...a little run over to Deal's Gap and US-129, Tail of the Dragon. Sorry to say, due to big t-storms this morning, the store was closed so no new souvenirs... yet. We'll swing by there again in the AM before heading out.
Lots of additional pics at my Picasa albums.
(Does anyone know if Eggy has ever been here before? I don't wanna go thru 3000 posts to find out. )
When Eggy was just a mere chicken I let him hide in Tellico Plains at Tellico Motorcycle Outfitters. I don't think he ever made it over the Cherohala to The Dragon.
Well, he's done it now, and some adventures along the way...
More pics posted at my Picasa album.
I'll take plenty more as we progress west but might be a couple days before they're posted...
BTW, my sweety Deba has asked me to bring him home before he gets dropped off. This is the third time we've traveled together but she's never met him. 'Spect he'll get to meet the burros in Oatman, AZ before it's all done...
George it was a pleasure meeting you and having the privaledge of getting a pic with one said egg, the little cutie in the pink shoei is Melissa. Quite the little rider too. She was talking about the egg when we got home.
I'll edit Melissa's name in my album when I get home...
Lots more pics to come. In the meantime, check out KillBoy.com and the other fotogs for last Friday and Saturday. I know KillBoy has a pic of Eggy passing over the Dragon's Tail...
Been doing a st-owners tag run, got Bruced in KS but just posted TN/KY/MO/CO at that site... Eggy is seeing lots of country side. Re-visited the center of the US in Kansas, new stone arch there designating the spot since Eggy last visited.
I was going to detour on my way to Florida Sunday to grab 'ole eggy but Arizona is a bit more of a detour than I had planned. Good to see the egg on the move!
When he was still a chicken!
Rode the Tail of the dragon with Haystack and Pigmo.
Nice to see the tag on the move!
Eggy and I made it to The CattHouse today. More pics will be posted tomorrow at my Picasa album
WiseBlood, thanks for posting up Eggy's Dragon pics... I gotta add those to the album I guess.
Many new pics posted at The Continuing Adventures of Mr. Egg at Picasa. Only a few more to come as he ges to a Classic Car Show tomorrow then on to a drop-off spot to be determined. Somewhere pretty close to Kingman, any suggestions?
So far this trip, Eggy has been to KY - VA - NC - TN - MO - KS - CO - NM - AZ. I think it's been a success so far. Already looking forward to his continuing adventures.
That is a great shot of My Precious in your clutch hand, George. Makes my heart rise up.
I'm sure you knew the consequences of an egg dropped while underway...BUT, (managed) risk is why we're here. :eek1
i have a suggestion for the drop. How about eastern montana?
Maybe the next chauffeur can go there, Slim. Eggy is on his way this afternoon to his chosen AZ resting place.
Pics in a couple hours... (stay tuned)
Well Slim, You tried.
Weird coincidence, fellow ADVRider I met this afternoon (HavaBusa on this site) is headed to Montana later this season. He'll be reading this so maybe he'll take up the challenge unless someone beats him to it.
Here's a map from west of Kingman to his rest stop. (You can zoom and go to street view to see the steps, but they must'a gone thru there at the same time of day as I, the glare of the setting sun kind'a washes out the landscape.
And my picasa album is all updated with the last series of pictures.
Here's a link to my SpotWalla page tracing the entire trip from 4-25 to 5-9, 2012. Eggy had a good time. Note the last six miles at the Kingman end, all ruff dirt into my back yard.
If no one picks him up in the next couple months, I can always move him again into a higher traffic zone.
Oh yeah, I'm just waiting for the camera battery to charge up.
I would go and do a night tag right now, but I'm afraid of all those Burro's up there.
LOOK OUT FOR THE DONKEY, HE LIKE TO KICK!
I have been to the "little oasis" before, and there were Burro tracks everywhere around it.
I hope the boss doesn't mind if I am a little late tomorrow
I found this old picture of Oatman.
I once saw a Donkey take a dump on the front wheel of some guys Harley Bagger.
His friends were laughing about it, but he was not.
Eggy will be traveling through here soon.
It was nice to meet you and eggy Wednesday in Cool Springs.
Teresa says hi.
We're back home in LHC. We got to Oatman right when the two restaurants were rolling up the sidewalks, so we fed the jackasses then WE ate in beautiful Bullhead City!
We also met a French couple in Oatman that are here on vacation riding a Harley Dresser and traveling from LA to Chicago along Route 66.
We stayed out late and had to fight those real heavy winds that kicked up, all of a sudden.
Surprised to see that you posted those pictures so fast.
I'll check the board more often and see where you're headed.
