Any one going to Red River? I've never been and would love to go check it out, but I've heard you can get lost up there fairly easily.

I don't think any of the usual suspects are going this weekend. I know Child, Ender, Thunder, and myself are out. Not sure about zach, but I think he would have said something by now if he was going.

OK, so I HAVE to ride this weekend on DIRT. Even some rocks would be ok at this point.

I was supposed to be in AR riding but that fell through.

So, where are we going? RR? I know, it's only Monday but I SOOOOOOOO don't want to be at work. I've been looking for a new bike all morning instead of the data entry I'm supposed to be doing. Did you know KTM might make an Adventure version of the 390 Duke? I'd so buy it. But I digress......

I ride my WR everyday, like this weekend to go camping and hunting. However 99% of that is on the road so it isn't the same!
I will go ride the weekend of the 24th and 25th, and I'm even willing to go on a trip.
This weekend I will not be riding. I hope y'all have fun.

I don't think I'll be going this weekend or next. May 25 & 26 I'm signed up to take Hunter's Ed.

I TOLD him if he kept using his rear end like that someone was going to destroy it...

Seriously though, what happened to ole blue?

I'm out of two wheel fun for this weekend, going to enchanted rock/gorman falls/fredricksburg for the girlfriends birthday.

Was in Austin last weekend for Aussie V8 race...

Seized bearings in the swingarm linkage.

Cleaned and lubricated and will be reinstalling today.

Down the road I'll replace the parts.

Doesn't sound like a fun job - sorry to hear about it.

Several Thumper talk maintenance posts recommend cleaning and lubing after each season - and for new suzuki and yamaha bikes since the manufacture doesn't do a good job when building them. Also, posts on Thumper talk recommend the steering head bearings for yearly maintenance cleaning/lubing.

Ender and I have contemplated doing our swingarms a few times, but it seems like a pretty big job, so we keep putting it off. Probably easier to do before it seizes thought. Ender and I did catch his rear axle on it's way to seizing, and we've had to do wheel bearings on both our bikes (wr and drz).

The dust and mud/water/sand we ride through is pretty hard on everything.

Its not a difficult job, really.

Lift bike, remove wheels (both, for balance)

Undo a few bolts and it's all apart.

It's not hard at all. Even a girl can do it. I did my TTR and it took less than 20 minutes. And yes, you should do it more often than every 17,000 miles. Ask Z@ch.

We need you guys in Ender's garage to give us that pep-talk when we're making excuses not to do the swing arm. :freaky

Edit. We'll be at red river Monday

Well, I don't think we thought it would be hard just a bit of time... and now I guess I will be finding out exactly how it's done because I just hopped on my bike to move it out of the garage for a bit and the rear suspension didn't move more than 1/2 an inch. :huh

Soooo.... I will be taking it apart and doing random stuff to it before I can ride again :cry
