Crooked Creek it is. Only .1" of rain received. Riding Saturday.
Great trails for beginners AND experts!
THIS JUST IN!
Crooked Creek is open for camping tonight and tomorrow night. We'll be there this evening.
If they are open tomorrow. I'll be there.
Rain missed 'em, they'll be open.
Did you guys get flooded up there where you are?
We got good and wet, but our drainage is good enough that we didn't have more than some nominal ponding.
Here's park info in case some one needs it.
Anyone riding this weekend?
I feel like exploring.... so far all I have had time to ride is a wooded lot (I guess you would call it) by my apt in Plano. It is fun for my skill level but I know there is more out there.
I've been invited to Boondoxxx to play but not sure I am up for that yet, or maybe it is just what I need haha
Do you have hand guards and a skid plate on that WR yet?
You're going to want those and probably a radiator guard before you start getting too dirty.
Not yet unfortunately.
Doing research, and I just picked it up Saturday.
Any preferred sites for dual sport gear? Or just google until your fingers are numb and pick one?
I got a Flatland Racing skid plate from Cyclebuy http://cyclebuy.com, but there are cheaper options.
MotoSport http://www.motosport.com has good prices and a variety of options.
Shop around for prices - they vary widely.
The LBJ National Grasslands up by Decatur and Alvord has some nice twisty paved and dirt roads, perfect for a small dual-sport. I was up there last Sunday and had a hoot despite the searing temps. I'd go up again this weekend but I'm going to be out of town.
Where are we riding? 85 degrees on Saturday!!!
RRMT got considerable rainfall Wed + Wed night - Total of 5 inches.
Davis (Cross Bar) only got 1.5" on Wednesday
Crooked Creek is open - reporting dry trails.
My vote is for Davis, mostly because I've never gotten to go there.
still too hot for me
Awe, James....... still too hot???? come on man up
<s>Late notice, I know, but I'm thinking about RRMT tomorrow. New-to-me slow bike so I'll just be taking it easy.</s>
Never mind, I just checked the weather.
I was going to be shocked! Lol. It's 20 degrees hotter than when we posted last time. Lol
OK, so the weather looks good for RRMT next Saturday, assuming they don't get a deluge of Biblical proportions on Friday:
Please tell me they're not closed
They're open, I'm probably going ride out and camp Saturday night.
