The people close behind me heard my bike backfiring. Turns out it was the key switch. The switch was getting bounced around by the weight of the other keys on the ring. It was causing intermittent switch-off of the ignition. Whoopsie! All sorted now.

And…this was the test ride for my wife on the back of the R100GS. It isn't a great 2-up bike for a day ride. She much preferred the 1200GSA for passenger comfort. Got the thumbs up to go get one. :clap:clap:clap:clap What kind of husband would I be to ignore my wife's comfort? I'll keep the R100GS for solo rides. R1200GSA for rides with wifey.

Hey FTB it sounds like your bike may have been backfiring but your plan to get a new 1200 is running on both cylinders :deal

I rode to Bretton Woods for some late season snowboarding today! Great riding all around. Lots of chrome on the road today along with my salty, muddy, studded KLX. It was nice to finally ride in warm weather. I'm done with riding in 0º-30ºF weather...at least until next winter.
