The people close behind me heard my bike backfiring. Turns out it was the key switch. The switch was getting bounced around by the weight of the other keys on the ring. It was causing intermittent switch-off of the ignition. Whoopsie! All sorted now. And this was the test ride for my wife on the back of the R100GS. It isn't a great 2-up bike for a day ride. She much preferred the 1200GSA for passenger comfort. Got the thumbs up to go get one. What kind of husband would I be to ignore my wife's comfort? I'll keep the R100GS for solo rides. R1200GSA for rides with wifey.
