SEPT 18,19,20. ( date is flexible within a week ) i would like to invite any one that can make it to spend a weekend of riding and mostly socializing at my camp on DOG LAKE. if you are looking for some easy gravel roads and some tarmac then you can ride with me. if you want trails and serious off road adventure then i hope some one else can lead a group ride. i suck on dirt and need help with the ride part of the rally. I'll take care of food and beer ( KEG OF STELLA??). THE CAMP CAN SLEEP ABOUT 9 GUYS. IF YOU ARE COMING AS A COUPLE THERE IS A ROOM WITH A DOUBLE BED. ALL OTHER BEDS ARE SINGLE. SOME OF US WILL HAVE TO SHARE ROOMS BUT I HAVE MATTRESSES FOR 9 PEOPLE.bring a tent if you like. we have a bathroom and a sauna and a big lake to wash up in. if you would like to come please post here .i know we have lot's of time but the sooner i know then the better. if you have a V-strom OR ANY OTHER MORE ROAD ORIENTED ADVENTURE BIKE, THEN THIS RALLY WOULD BE GREAT FOR YOU.there are lot's of trails and gravel roads around thunder bay and that is where the riding will take place. plan is to ride around during the day and return to camp for the evening , breakfast and dinner at the camp but lunch will be on the road. let me know if there is any interest.

I forgot to mention my camp is about 30 to 40 minutes away from thunder bay. it's very easy to get to and the road is mostly tarmac all the way there .To make more interesting you can also take SILVER FALLS ROAD which is mostly gravel but very easy to do .

    Hi Northrider,

If my work schedule stays the same I'll be able to make it. ZZR_Ron is on the same schedule as me for now, but that might not last.

I can't see why I wouldn't go. Missed meeting up with you the other day Northrider so this can be my second chance. Hopefully a few Icebreaker riders can show up.
If anyone south of here wants to overnight in Wawa on the way let me know.

North Rider, whats the GPS coordinates of your camp on Dog Lake? I looked at the lake on Google Earth and it is pretty big. The cottages are mostly on the south part of the lake shore. Real nice lake. Is that a trailer park at the end of the Dog Lake Rd.? Is there a gas pump there?

you can bring your plane. i have a friend who landed there before and took my brother-in-law for a spin on his plane. i missed out
if you are really going to bring the plane ( i think you are kidding) i must be there to get it on film. i can get lots of gas out there if you are serious.

gas will not be a problem I'll make sure of that.i have a dock as well where he can tie up the plane or we can haul it up on the beach .it's all sand where we are. i would love to go up and look the lake over from above.

Well, I calculate that it would take me 2.5 hours to fly there versus a whole day ride on the KLR. Ontario is such a big place. I'd hate to show up at a rally and not ride so maybe I could trade you a plane ride for a ride on one of your many fine bikes. I am a bit worried about gas, but I can burn regular grade auto gas so if there is a way to get about four 5 gal cans to your camp it would save me a trip to Thunder Bay to get avgas.

I can carry way more than a bike so I would have tent, sleeping bag, cooler full of beer etc. Sand beach is good if no dock space available.

Finndian, I won't do an in-canyon flight, but if you want to come with me I can pick you up on the Wawa Lake beach, but be forewarned... if you have time to spare travel by air.

Heres what I did today...caught our limit of walleye, daytime trolling. Just finished filleting them. Some of those flyin lakes are polluted with walleyes.
