I use the ATV tank bags but found they interfere with the knees up on the tank. Instead, I took the seat off and threw them over the frame rails then put the seat back on. They locate nicely behind the knees instead.

Wasn't too good. I went over a curb, just because the 530 can and felt instant pain in my lower back...looks like it's a good thing I didn't go to the NoFar Rally in Wawa. Lying on my back tonight with ice and pain killers :eek1

My 530 at McVicars creek where I used to spend a lot time when I was a youngster

I picked up a little toy that will be an Alaskan Project...and maybe a few other places. Didn't really like the 08' and up style, so we'll give the 2003 model a try :evil gonna set her up for touring long distance.

Looks like a great pick up. Tank and lower guards, bark busters, nice big back luggage plate. Is that a corbin seat?

Here is a link to some luggage near you http://thunderbay.kijiji.ca/c-cars-...ories-KLR-650-Luggage-Rack-W0QQAdIdZ484003248

Getting my '06 KLR set up for some trips also. I do like the newer models but there is something about a farkled out older model that just says adventure bike in a bigger way. When we were up in Alaska/Yukon last year I would say that 40-50% of the bikes at the D2D were KLRs of one stripe or another.

Was into JJ sports and they have a '11 VStrom 650 there for $7499 and I think there is also $500 dealer incentive available to start farkling. Prob be able to deal yet on it but it would be a good buy for anyone looking for a bike in that class.

Give your back time to heal up. Lots of walking and when you can core strengthening. It would not be nice, to spend what summer we are getting, hobbled with a bad back.

Plastics were painted due to fading but otherwise seems to be in decent shape. Will take you up on your offer sometime this summer, since I have a garage finally!

    It's a start...about 2500 short of finish :evil

That luggage is for sale by the guy I bought the bike from. I prefer the top loading panniers to the side ones.

I'm starting to think that the Emerg Doc was in such a rush when I was there, that he missed a crack or something. In my opinion, he wasn't very professional, you don't just all of a sudden push hard on the spot that someone is complaining about...he seemed to think I was wasting his time! Just doesn't seem to be healing properly :huh

I like simplicity of the old School KLR's as well.

If the guy painted with Krylon Fusion, that stuff lasts forever! I did my front fender 8
years ago, and it still looks like new!

Not sure what it was painted with, forgot to ask. Started taking things apart...few small issues but other than that, looks pretty good so far.

I'm going to put my 09' Ktm 300xc-w up for sale and put the money into this bike.

If anyone is interested PM me for details

you could be right, Never hurts (no pun intended) to get a second opinion. Go back and ask for an x-ray. If you told him it was the result of a motorcycle racing accident that should have been automatic.

They did take x-rays, probably deleted them by now. When they did the x-ray, it seemed that they never put the lead sheet low enough to actually x-ray the area that hurt. If it still hurts this bad in a week, I'll be going back. I know there's nothing that can be done for any kind of crack but at least pain killers and time off work to heal may help.
