Ali was not happy having been left to fend for herself for so long "I'M STARVING!!!!" "Need Food NOW! been living off of nasty little grubs and prickly bushes, NOT Gater food!"

So we headed back to Aldie and had a nice lunch at the newly reopened store.

Then we headed out RT 50 to find some place with a nice pond and possible ducks or geese so Ali could wonder down as needed for nourishment.

After riding down RT 50 for a while we turned south and headed toward Marshall and then east on RT 55.

"Some place near a winery would be nice, I always enjoy a nice Bordeaux with duck or geese."
"OK, I think I know a place just down the road with a bit dirt road leading to a that should be quiet but close to both pond and winery, Hang On, could get a bit rough."

Turning off of RT 55 we went down a short dirt road to an old store cica 1880 with an old cemetery katty-corner. The store's name starts with the same letter of a place that some of you (us) may (or may even Want to, and that some may say Deserve to ) end up in after passing on, (but that's beyond the scope of this post! :rofl ) The cemetery shares a name with a part of DC that was once actually a separate town back in the early days. Just down the road there is a winery (for Ali to sneek into and grab a bottle or two) and a nice pond that usually has some sort of water foul hanging about.

    TAG::

While out riding enjoying the fresh Air, we stumbled upon a street that shares the funny name of a county within the state . Ali rears above the letter "N" on this sign. Don't run over any swans on this road !

Well, sorry for the delay but my friend George and I got caught up in a longer than planned ride after I got Ali and had to head home in time to make dinner so I didn't have a chance to drop off Ali on the way. I'll do the tag today hopefully by noon at the end of a nice bit of dirt road near a nice stream that Ali can paddle about in as the mood strikes her.

    Thanks!

"Goochland" tracks with the clues, viz., unusual VA county name.

The, "swan," reference? Less obvious, to me!

(I think some imprinting experiments, fooling Canada geese into thinking an ultralight aircraft was their mother, were conducted around Airlie, but . . . know of no corresponding swan enterprises.)

There is a "Swan Crossing" sign just up the road near the Arlie main entrance and there are Swans in the pond at times, shows how much You Know!:y0!

Maybe you'll post a picture in your grab post.

And . . . how about a TAG post? As John Wayne might say, "We're burnin' daylight!" :lol2

Ok, all you impairment ( or is that impotant??) folks (who let Ali sit for over a week recently until yours truly rescued her) here's the clues and picks of the TAG (xdrag and No-rider already covered the grab site)

Somewhere in PW county (at least I Think its in PW county) there is a Wildlife Refuse site (or perhaps refuge) or then again it might be known as a wildlife Management area named after an old farm that shares it's name with the first of the 6 Screw Frigates build during the Civil War ( which by all accounts was anything But Civil...) that also had Iron Clad sides. Though the name is pronounced the same the spelling of the farm's name is different. Find the road (gravel dirt) leading to it and go all the way to the end (well, its not actually the end but its as far as you can (legally) by motor vehicle) (confused yet? Ready to give up, tired of all the (asides) )? Good!:lol2
Look for these clues once you get to the end, (which by the way is a dead end, that is unless you go by the gate up to farm house which has another road taking you back out, but you do so at your own risk!)
I did note that the restrictions don't include ALI-gators so....

Oh, yeah couse I Already went for a ride (just to keep YOU happy! :lol2)
