The Lobos dual sport ride is coming up in a couple of weeks (6/23-6/24). Two days of premium high desert riding!

Oh and if you only do one ride a year... :puke1 get a life

"Get a life" the man says. Hmm.

I wish you could have seen the Rubicon at the Black Dog. Even more I wish you could have driven a KLR through it.

I wasn't sure I'd be able to go to the Fort Rock Dualsport ride hosted by the Lobos this coming weekend, but it looks like it's going to work out and I'll be able to go.

The Lobos flyer and web site are pretty light on any kind of details. Basically it looks like I should plan to be at the center of "downtown" Fort Rock on Sat. at 8 AM.

However, there is no mention of:
1 - Where to camp? Somewhere in Fort Rock, or just my choice of nearby Forest Service campgrounds.

2 - Any meals? The Black Dog had lunch for at least one day, anything like that happening on this ride?

I had the same thought. From what I could gather from last year's event, it centers around the town's one restaurant/bar. I plan on bringing food; no hurt in being over prepared.

There are 2 DS rallys in Idaho - First 2 full weekends in July. North Idaho Selkirks Rally near Sandpoint July 7-8 and KLIM Adventure Rally in SW Idaho July 13-15.

Need to change from the 4th weekend to an earlier one I would say :-)

If you want a more pure offroad experience there is the Fringe MC club Hot and Dusty Poker Run July 28-29.

Another end of July event for dual sport is in B.C. July 27-29, Princeton area, BC.

This is the 2nd year and will be a blast. Come out and camp for the weekend or just participate for the day. Great door prizes, presentation on Experience Africa, great routes, huge campfire and group dinner/potluck planned.

I hope to see you there!
