The duck needed some off road time....
And punk#3 had a birthday yesterday , for his birthday we did a group atv ride. So......I combined my two passions into one.

The tag isn't far off the pavement. No crying

    Need clues? ??

Im cool with that........but the weather should be watched.......I have seen 8' of water flowing across that bridge from the Crooked Run below after a heavy rain.

Yes, I let discretion be the better part of valor and opted to not take the bike down to the bridge. I did wander around on foot for a bit down there until I crossed paths with someone hunting.

    Tag -

The duck lies in the base of an old blow down at the trailhead leading into the National forest that shares the name of a General from the Civil war known for not just for his cunning but also his "Scorched Earth" policy.

The trailhead can be found along a road that shares the name of the geographical description of portion of North Eastern WV.

An obscure hint: This trail has been used for the OD100 in the past (I will say no more).

Tag Notes: The road to reach the trailhead is well groomed gravel, more if coming in from the south, less if coming in from the north. The tag is approx. 100 yards from the road up the trail. It may not look like it but the short path to the tag can be legally ridden to where I took the photos. There is a small pull off right next to where the bike is in the photos for folks to park when hiking the trail.

Duck is hidden at base of the root ball of the blow down to the right of the bike.

Poor duck... More hints for those not local. Lets see this thing move! :)

The road the trail head is on...

The trail head sign is on the gravel road and is a suitable grab picture location for those with bigger bikes that don't wish to ride up to the blow-down. Also, the trailhead is not the only thing that uses this civil war generals name. A WWII tank was also named after him (likely because of his scorched earth policy).

I know where it is, just haven't had a chance yet. It'll move before Sunday one way or another - I guarantee.

I just realized what building that is/was, East Coast on the North side of town.

So, what happened to the Diner? There was talk of saving it...

I saw it up on blocks about a week or so ago? On wheels though. Looks like it was saved. Not sure where it was going though.

Well I couldn't let the duck go another night out in the woods and I had to test my son's KLR that I'd been working on anyway so I made the short ride to Sherman Gap Trail off of Panhandle Rd. west of Front Royal.

Not much sun left in the afternoon so he won't go very far....
