Saw you on Bull Run Mountain road. I should of turned around and followed you.
Jim, thanks for coming out. Sorry it was a shorter ride. My kitchen pass expired at noon. Next one will be longer.
I am also glad I finally know an insider on the Shenny 500.
Ahhh were there two of you riding more dirt-oriented dual-sports? I was wondering if it might by a NOVA Adv rider. :) It was shortly after I passed you that I drove through that "lake" on Bull Run.
How many dumb assess with "BMW Motorad" jerseys do you see out there??
We saw a white BMW GS....Might have been my dumb ass with a friend....two KLR's...one black with some mud, one grey & yellow with less...cause I went around that puddle.
How about this weekend?? I would have loved to join ya on this but was (am still) out of town. I got new tires and am itching to see if they (Anakee 2s) are better than my stock TrailWings were. Only have about 50 miles on them so far, just got them a couple days before flying out.
Sorry Mike. I am out of town this weekend. Well really just Sunday but I am tied up with family obligations. I am hoping to do one on father's day. Stay tuned.
Something's on or around Fathers Day sounds good to me! Have a safe trip!
Hey, I'm a noob round here, but I'd love to meet some of y'all NoVA riders on fathers day...if I can get a pass to slip away. Otherwise, is anybody free on Wednesdays? I'm usually off every Wed, and my '12 KLR needs more miles!
Father's Day sounds good to me. It turns out this year we're celebrating FD on Saturday, so Sunday I get to do what I want!
I wanted to post so I can get subscribed...
Looking forward to meeting and riding with some inmates.
Crazy busy with work, but I do have Sunday free. I was thinking of maybe running the route that Error-cooled ran last week. Anybody wanna come along?
Can't this weekend, but that route that Error Cooled did is great. Might get dusty this weekend. More fun after rain. I love puddles.
Alright, for anyone who wants to join in, we're gonna go riding tomorrow, meet up at the Sheetz gas station at the intersection of rt 15 & rt 234 just north of Haymarket.
If you can, PM me so I'll know to expect you in case you're running a minute late.
So at what time....
PS. Love the avatar jica12.
Thanks to those guys who came out for a ride today. Weather was beautiful, roads were good, and no one went down.
Here's a few pics.
Dave & Jason up front.
John splashing thru the water on Little river.
Some people tending to their bee hives.
Damn the smudge on the camera lense; this spot was just beautiful.
A few more random pics from today.
John following on his F800.
That's it! Can't wait for another opportunity to go discover some more of Nova's gravel roads.
Hey...that's me! Jeez, I gotta get a jacket that fits! Great meeting and riding with you guys today, (even though I had to cut out early). My first real water crossing! There's plenty of room for improvement as I almost ran up the bank on the other side! I'm sure the rest of the ride was great, such a beautiful area out there. I'm looking forward to the next ride that, hopefully, I'll be able to join for longer!
Had a great time today guys love getting lost back on those roads. Hit that water crossing one more time on the way home after all the dust today needed one more cleaning before heading home. Also once we split up I hit Bust Head Rd again back toward Middleburg and then took Rock Hill Mill Rd, Five Points Rd, Carters Farm Rd and Cobb House Rd. There are some fantastic gravel roads around there and easy to spend an entire day going in circles on those roads and never hit the same one twice.
The other river crossing you all asked about is off of Jeb Stuart Rd. It's a bit deeper and the silt build up makes it a far more technically interesting that the one of off Little River Rd.
Looking forward to the next trip.
Per my earlier post, I am going to do another noob freindly DS ride through some of the back road scenery of Loudoun county. The weather is looking great with temps probably in the upper 60s in the morning rising to the low 80s with low chance of rain.
My intention is to get everyone out and back in time to spend some quality family time for father's day. SO plan on being done around noonish.

KSU 08:30 so set your arrival time by your coffee intake requirements
I will be there betwen 07:30 and 08:00
Off road inexperienced (noob) friendly
Hard pack dirt and gravel roads. Some loose gravel in spots. Water crossing will depend on group skill level and willingness
No nobbies required. We are not going to hit anything that will require off-road tires. All of these roads can be done with street tires
TBD (but pretty similar to the last one)
I am open to other suggestions.
