Nice pics xeril
Thanks EC, that was a great ride Sat.
Anyone up for riding this weekend? Havent checked the weather, have a few places in mind but others probably know a better route. Maybe another meet up at Sheetz then off to a trail or maybe even Peters Mill Run/ Taskers Gap. Been there since Tuesday came back today but definitely interested in going again, with people. PM me if anyone wants to ride but I wont be able to get back to you till 6am, work 930-6am Friday-Monday.
Big RTE in Marshall on Sunday. I plan on a few hours of dirt afterwards. Sure there will be plenty of activities to chose from.
If you don't mind, could you send me a link or a time/place. Sounds awesome definitely interested. Found Peters Mill/Taskers Gap Tuesday and I've been back every day this week
Don't mean to be posting so much, but there is a mainly HD ride meeting up at Spankys/Shenanigans in Leesburg at Noon. Dualsports, etc. are totally cool. Im on a muddy bent up KLR myself.
Spankys/Shenanigans Pub: 538 E Market St, Leesburg, VA
Staging is most likely around back by the tiki bar. If nothing else comes up I will be there with a friend and then everyone there is my friends friend, so it should be nice. I don't think there will be any offroading involved but there is a party in Lucketts after the ride either the ride goes to it or there is just one afterwords I'm sure is open to other riders.
See you at Spankys @ Noon
I'm out for this weekend for riding. Feeling under the weather.
As a point of reference all the gravel photos the past few pages are right around Marshall.
With all that's been said what is the plan for Sunday???
I'm leaving Leesburg Red Hot & Blue around 9:30 and taking the loooong scenic route to the RTE in Marshall. ETA 11:30.
Yes there will be dirt and gravel en route. Nothing bad just local roads.
After lunch, since nobody will still be talking to me,
I'll take a different route home.
Join if you care to.
Promising Poker Run, originating in Warrenton, to Triangle (USMC Museum), Dumfries (dealership), and finally to the "Tank Farm," Americans In Wartime Museum in Nokesville, where military tank rides are available through lottery.
Free, all-you-can-eat breakfast; door prizes; $ 20 one hand; $ 10 for a second one.
RSVP to me by post or PM by Thursday evening, please, if you plan to attend.
I gotta a hankering for some crabcakes.
And I have a slightly different route to Shepardstown.
Then on to Berkley Springs and Westward and South.
Leave Leesburg Red Hot & Blue at 10 AM
all asphalt (unless the attendees demand a reroute)
Trouble with commitment...?
just show up. (but don't be late.)
Saturday or Sunday? Sunday, I'm a definite maybe, if I have anything left after Saturday.
If anyone wants to check out some cool motorcycle skills, the Mid Atlantic Police Motorcycle Riding Committee is having a "rodeo" at the Dulles expo mart this weekend. I don't know the exact schedule of events, but I caught these guys doing their thing a few years ago at the Walmart parking lot in Fair Lakes, and it was pretty cool to watch. Great motorcycle handling skills on display.
10am? Will be there. Black '12 klr. Now to fix my bike in time! Woo
Just curious, how do I get to this water crossing?
I am a possibility.
And what a ride it was!
Thanks, porcupine224, for another epic!
Glad turtleman420 got the electrons and "holes" flowing in his battery so he could make the scene.
Good to see Joey Stalin (with no displaced Tag-o-rama mascot up his sleeve!).
Quite a 3-state romp in absolutely perfect weather; Betty's in Shepherdstown still can put on a feed.
Ready to go again!
Thanks Porcupine for leading the ride! This is an official reminder that I owe you one lunch.
A nice ride in new territory.
I'm still marveling over the sweeping right curve with the stop sign in the apex.
A large stop sign with a note across the bottom that says
" but not if your turning right"
When you don't know it there, its a bit of a surprise at 40.
When you ride is W VA you are always entertained.
Looking forward to the next one.
