Beautiful day to be up there! Did you take the quick way off of the ridge? It was a bit more of a squeeze than I remember :lol3

Yeah, we had a great several hours of riding on and off pavement.

If you mean "the downhill", no. The last time we did it we had to lift the bikes over. Since we didn't have any young lifter-type folks with us :lol3 we went out the regular way.

KL_ARRR chose the route and thus had the responsibility of being "young lifter-type" as well:D.

    Crater Lake was gorgeous.

The duck is behind the bottle under thelog in a soda can

The "path" heading North. The mud is pretty deep. Recommend a real dirt bike if you want to explore any further.

Here's Walter trying to bushwack around the mud puddle. He didn't make it...:D

    New Tag

    1. Start here
    [IMG]

    2. You will see this track running alongside a disused railway.

    3. Follow this trail South for aprox 1 mile until you arrive here.

    4. You will see a large fallen tree.

    5. At the broken base of the tree the black duck is next to a large vertical splinter.

Thanks, Jezza. That's a nice little mile or two of semi-urban trail by the tracks. But as KL_ARRR will testify from when we were on Institute Road last Sunday, I hate those patches of deep, big gravel:eek1. At the depot just before the 'duck' end there was a guy washing trucks. He asked me over and said there was nothing further along, so I explained a little then he offered me a power-wash!

I went back along the route to the GPS co-ords, then continued North along the tracks until I suddenly found myself playing left-field in an organised baseball game in the park between the tracks and what looked like a municipal building. Rather than continue across and mow down the outfielders I stopped there and went back to the street; looked like there was more to explore.

New tag up later once I've finished the cooking.

    Start here:

When the road forks go to the left, you will see this:

A little further and there's a dump and foundation on the left - the bike is facing the way I came:

At the front left corner of the foundation behind the bike is the remains of a TV:

The duck is under the front left corner of the TV. Sorry, none of the close-ups of the duck under the TV came out well, pilot error.

There's more fun to be had further down the road; hope you like your vegetables.

The duck will be dropped Saturday.

Nice road Jim (too bad they use it as a dump)- I took it to what I think was the end-- past the big puddle there was a crusty farmer doing some backhoe work and he didn't look all that pleased to see me, so I didn't hang around. Spent most of the next few hours riding around Orange County and Sussex before heading south/home.

Was a spectacular location that Walter got his team of dirt riders, about 125 miles from the Empire State Building, so still good. Here's the crowd watching him place the duck:
