The duck was gone when I arrived at 5:30.
Fowl on my part (yes that is an intentional pun).
I completely forgot when I wrote the post up at home that after the location shot was taken we decided to move Mr. Quacks a little bit further under the bridge and out of view. He was still on the same support beam, but further towards the center of the bridge.
I am really sorry Bill. Can't believe I screwed my first dirt tag. Bah!
No big deal. I believe, considering the circumstances, that Bill has the tag. I think it would be reasonable for KiwiMtnClmbr to go and get the duck and deliver it to Bill. Or just let Bill pick a new mascot.
For the future, it is a good idea to have the mascot out of sight so that the random hiker doesn't pick it up. But when hidden, appropriate photos should be supplied.
Good thing Bill hadn't gone to Albany for the tag!
Also, make sure the mascot is secure
and can't be washed or blown away,
or eaten by rattlesnakes.
It does happen:eek1.
Docking Pilot to the courtesy phone
Yea. My lost mascot is probably in the gulf stream by now. Maybe a pass off to the Great Britain TOR
Looks like the duck was still at the bridge, but hidden underneath, requiring some serious Yoga positioning to retrieve:
It is my position that the tag is still NJ-Bill's if he wants it. He can substitute another mascot for the time being, until the duck can be restored.
No problem. The tag will be moved!
Change of plans. Work (and fun) has conspired to interfere with tagging duties, so the duck is on the way to the rightful tag holder, NJBill. He will have it in time to drop the tag on Friday or the weekend, depending on his whims.
Off to watch the Barkley golf tournament in the a.m.!
"Barclays" not "Barkley" golf tournament, or are you watching dogs play golf Doc ?
Sorry.... The Pilot is correct... Barclay's at Liberty National:
Tiger tees off at 8:16 a.m.
What time does Charles tee off?
I should talk !!
Not sure, but Tiger tee'd off at 8:16, starting on the 10th hole. Here he is on the 13th:
One of the spectators on the 11th during the rain delay:
Keeping the bridge theme.
Hint: Starting at Rt. 206 and Stokes Road will be more fun than starting at Carranza Rd.
Thanks again, Doc, for mailing me the tag. You're a class act.
Not the smartest thing I ever did. A great fast ride out for the duc rescue. After my post it was completely dark. So the 36 mile trail ride home was difficult, poor vision, ruts and holes and turns seem to sneak up on you. Never mind having to yield to about 8 deer! Not so much the free spirit ride on the return, cautious was the only choice. Maybe tomorrow the duc will get a bath.
Those challenges will make you a better rider. And you won't see the "good" doctor night riding! No doc, 4am rides into "the city" don't count.
Hope to see you at the PB300!
I was thinking on maybe skiving off tomorrow to go for it,
now I'm condemned to another day working for The Man.
Lola has missed the duc
the chase is on
miss Betty just cant swim as fast
