I was there this morning (Sat) from 9-12. It was not very crowded.
The show is shrinking, what's up with that?

I'm sure there are many factors, but I'd guess that the negative press for NYC and motorcycles in the past few years might have something to do with it.
Also, the negativity about Staten Island (1/5th of NYC) probably contributes.:-)
And all the negativity about the relationship between motorcyclists and the NYC police officers.

The show should move to NJ, where motorcycles are loved! :imaposer

I brought the family over today, from about noon to 3:00. It was a good size crowd, but somehow not crowded. Plus, it seems like they made the walkways between displays much wider. We had a nice time. My little 5 year old was thrilled to see the motocross riders doing some freestyle jumps. I was happy to run into my Pine Barrens mentor, Jack O'Connor and his sidekick Rob. Plus I got to see a few bikes I was curious about: the new Honda CRF250 Rally, the Ducati Scrambler "Desert Sled," and the BMW G310GS. Was Triumph there? I didn't see them, and wanted to see the updated Scrambler. Also, I was hoping Royal Enfield would have the Himalayan. Overall, I felt like some of the pizzazz was missing, particularly the Ducati display. I'm still glad we went.

Plastic and more plastic. You'll need an aftermarket skidplate for sure. Hope it helps.

For me, the move to December was a killer for me. I used to attend annually when in January. But in December, too many work commitments with year-end and too many family commitments with the holidays. I loved going...but do not believe I have since the date move.

Glad I went today, similar to last year just a tiny bit smaller. I was hoping Moto Guzzi would be there, wanted to sit on the MGX-21.

I think the highlight was seeing Eric Buell himself there representing his EBR race bikes.

Brought my Redline cruiser in my SUV and biked down to the 911 memorial as the sun was setting. Good day!

Well I was working - I drive for a car service on the weekends and had to drive 2 women from PA to NYC for dinner - Woof traffic was nuts as they were going to a place in mid town, east side. Plus they wanted to do a drive by fruiting @ Rock Center - uh nfw. Roads closed
But Trump did do a driveby while I was waiting....
    Really nuts.
The only way to get around Manhattan is on a moto is now fully confirmed.

Saw some pirates line splitting up 6th Ave, but alas the pigs, Err Hogs were having a tough time.

Hopefully they move the show back to January and into the Dirty Jerz

As always, Good Times in the Big City for us country folk!:freaky
Show is definitely getting smaller, but gave us the chance to see some of the stars & stories on the Progressive stage.
    Rickie Gadson was entertaining.

It was interesting to see that when Kawasaki introduced their Flagship model the H2, you couldn't get near it & had one up on a turntable:hmmmmm
This year, they were tucked back in a dim corner for all to fondle & drop:muutt

1290 Superduke GT-nice bike, hard bags were very small. Ducati 950-nice bike, but no C.C. and not that much different than my Vstrom 1000. The blond fluff Ducati girl -PRICELESS!

As an aside-- anyone else notice the relatively large number of grey bikes from many of the manufacturers?

And matte finishes- quite a few of those too.

Still had the machine oil smell to it. Interesting concept. A lot of faith in mechanical connections.

Should be interesting to see how it turns out.

We were there 9:30 until about 5 PM. It's become a ritual for us. My son and I have been going for some time. Last few years it's one of a few times a year we spend the whole day together.

It is getting smaller each year. So many manufacturers not present and a few had leftover/demo/used 2016's instead of new models.

I'm still split on the Cycle Gear Market Place.

I think the Javits center cost are both scaring away vendors and keeping patrons home. I spent easily $160 yesterday and the only thing I bought besides food was Glen Heggstad's book.

Been going for the past 10 years. My last trip in. Been shrinking every year. there used to be a dozen rows of vendors. Down to two. Jerky and chrome polish the high lights. Sad state of affairs. Don't know the reason. Seems the industry is doing fine.

Went there on Saturday and it was pretty crowded, but noticed the footprint of the show is getting way smaller. Second year in a row where I walked right up to the ticket booth with no line. Don't really care for the vendors that are there, insurance companies, knock off brand sunglasses, LED light manufacturers, and tons of black leather for the Harley crowd. The only vendors I take the time to check out are all the helmet manufacturers and the air brush artists. I think the costs have to be killing the show. Hope they bring it to Atlantic City! May not get the crowd, but I'm sure it will cost a lot less. Hell, have it in the Wildwood Convention Center at the end of summer. Okay, I'm dreaming!
