I rode today, but didn't see any ice. Except for the ice in my hydration pack. :dunno

Hey guys, so the worst happened.. Sort of. Parked bike in Jersey to drive to DC with wife and MIL. Came back to a dead battery and a dead mini jump starter as well (left the power button on it would appear). Push starting a 420lbs bike in subzero temperatures didn't work either.

Is anyone close enough to Cliffside Park to give me a jump in the morning tomorrow? I would much appreciate it.. Need to get back to Manhattan tomorrow somehow.

Thanks! My cell phone isn't known for great pics (Moto G5) but the scenery out here is so picturesque its hard to take a bad pic.

I rode yesterday. Wasn’t too bad, only noticed a handful of ice spots in much less travelled areas. Cold, but tolerable with the right gear. Looks like today should just be more of the same.

Thanks for the offer but I had to get a new battery from circle cycle after jump starting did not work...

Kind of more fun that motorcycling in the snow. Not sure if safer

Another decent day riding into work. Most of the roads seemed to have some degree of salt down, plus being well travelled meant almost no ice to be seen except for some side roads and shady spots. The new backcountry hippo hands and some new Spidi Superstorm insulated pants I got for Christmas gifts held up well too. Let’s see how much colder tomorrow is.

Yikes! And I thought it was bad on the Island at 13 deg. I chickened out and took my Jeep in. Sipe's look great! I was thinking about siping the MT's on my Wrangler since they do absolutely nothing in the snow to help.

By me a few random side streets have about half a ton of snow dropped on them. They weren't there on Sunday. I guess sanitation is trying to cash in on their "snow budget"

You can borrow my siping tool anytime, I've got a bunch of extra blades.

That would be awesome! Is it pretty straightforward to use?

10 years in Vermont taught me that it wasn't the cold temperatures that made riding in the winter a problem. It was the salt....
Best that you have a beater bike you don't care about if you ride in the winter. Or your bike might end up like this:
