So, there is talk that Cuomo may introduce congestion pricing for all vehicles crossing the East river bridges! Big cities like London do not impose the congestion charge on motorcycles/2 wheeled vehicles and neither should NYC. The more signature there are, the more Cuomo is bound to listen- esp considering he is a biker himself. The toll seems unlikely as it would be political suicide but just in case he does, I think we should be prepared...please sign!

I agree! We should also be allowed to use the bus lanes, which they also permit in London

    Anyone using Heated
    1) Insoles?
    or
    2) Socks?

    Wondering which is better?
I currently have Gerbings Jacket and Gloves with a Dual controller so I'll need a splitter I guess. Anyone with a similar setup ?

I forget if I’ve posted this before or not, so apologies if it’s a repost. I’m just all aboard the ACF-50 train.

I have battery operated heated socks and they work well. It's always better to have the heat source closer to your body but at the expense of convinence. I'd rather have the last outer piece of gear I put on have a wire to plug in than trying to route a wire from my socks.

So, that's what this stuff is for that's been sitting on my work-shelf for two years!

By the way, after the oily stuff accumulates weeks of dirt and salt during the winter, how hard is it to clean off the bike?

Easy, but a pain in the ass. ACF really gets everywhere and the film of it doesn’t just go away without being scrubbed down with soap and water so you have to be thorough. It’s not difficult though, like I said, just a pain.

Happy new year! I’m spending it out west where it’s a positively balmy 40.

I was going to post a nice landscape, but I figured it was adding insult to injury. The bad news here is that it's like 1970's LA with the fucking temperature inversions holding all the pollution in the valley.

Can't hurt, me says too. Better to be prepared...
Think this is "just in case" Cuomo does go ahead with this nonsense plan. NYC laws are stupid where people can't have electric wheeled transport or get incentives for it- so one never knows.
Amazing that the petition already has 400 signatures- surprises me!

I never understand the Change.org petitions and I would be that an elected official would count one well-written letter (or email) and/or phone call in higher regard than a 100 signatures. If it comes down to it, call, write, setup an appointment to meet (nearly impossible, but not totally) your elected official.

Wasn’t there a government website to submit petitions to the White House that was recently suspended because not a single petition was answered since it’s inception?

So, this is how it works on Change.org. If they have the email of the person (they did for Cuomo) they send an email about the petition getting started and as signatures and comments come in. And then the people who start the petition have to keep following up and take action. Change.org has had many "victories" using this model.

However, using this, Cheryl was going to call and get a in-person meeting with the Governor to talk to him about not considering this nonsense idea.
And if you guys rather call or write a personal letter, please do. I think everything helps. No?
