anyone up for a group ride tomorrow down the WSH?
Are you implying that everyone who has spent any amount of time in the city should know - as part of their "common sense" - how the street racing and stunta cultures work and what their "responsibilities" (:huh) are?
We would need to get T-shirts printed for the occasion...

Closest self-serve motorcycle wash? I'm in Midtown.
Cruz' attorney - Cruz being the one who supposedly got tapped in the beginning of that video - says that Cruz "didnt see any prior interaction that may have happened between the SUV and the motorcyclists."
HUGE! Much obliged!
If anyone is interested.
Selling my G650 GS
a few pages back someone had found an article where the NYPD gave statistics on motorcycle related tickets, arrests, motorcycle impounds and such for the last year i think it was. just got back from ikea by ferry. i found the 1500+ bikes that have been impounded. thought it was a bike boneyard at first. several drz's visible
Veeery interesting.....I wonder how many bikes there have had their VIN's run by NYPD to see if they show up as stolen and then be reunited with their rightful owners...
I really hope this isn't the situation we had in Boston in the early 90's where the PD was caught sitting on this stuff(mostly high end bicycles) so they could then let the statues of limitations run out and then sell or take the property and use it for their own financial benefit...
In the bad old days, cops used to use the impound lot in Whitestone as their own personal used parts junk yard.
Hopefully, that behavior has ended.

Rest in peace, good man. For anyone that knew him, I'm sorry, and there are no good words.
What shop in the nearby area has a large selection of helmets to try on?
I bought my first helmet 3 months ago based on very little riding experience.
I'd like to look at a few helmets now while doing more research.
Online searching and videos are great but I'd like to feel the difference.
Also while on the subject - how do I know what features will help for an NYC winter ?
Try a big dealership and some cycle gears have lots on hand.
For cold weather : heated grips(look for Oxford), hand guards, waterproof boots and jacket. Tall screen to cut the wind if you dont have one. Two weeks ago CG was having big disocunts on their entry level warm gear. Bought a Bilt jacket for 99$ along with some pretty nice boots for 89$ and warm gloves for 20$.
Thanks. I don't understand the names of the places you listed. "A big deal", and "cycle gears" are the local places I should check out?
For gear I'm so far decently equipped I have pants a good jacket boots and a lower face wind blocker. I have winter gloves and my bike came with heated grips. I don't have a good wind shield or hand guards.
My question was really about helmets for the winter. What features really help in helmets for NYC type weather.
Sorry I meant to type dealership - CG is a chain of motorcycle accessories.
Heres what I bought las t week from them for the late seaon. Entry-level stuff but I am happy with it.
edit: my bad - got the part where you have abought gear already after I posted. Personally I run the same helmet: a showi full face but I add the baclava and a neck cover like when you go skiing. I seen some dudes around here use snowmobile helmets late in the season but I havent.
Windscreen and handguards are a must.
