Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Al, but at your age, given a penchant of constantly riding KTM's that cause riders to stand up to ease their discomfort, a check with your doc will confirm Fecal Incontinence.

Solution. Ride a BMW with a comfort seat!

    Cheers Chris

The Mossgiel road is actually impassable when wet. A trio of mates waited it out with some locals in Toyotas one year when it had rained, it only took overnight to drain off enough to be rideable. One had a go on the day and got 10 yards, his wheels just clogged with mud/clay and wouldn't turn at all. The locals don't even bother trying. If it even looks like rain, avoid.

Most likely I am headed that way. Something like Condo, Mennindie, BH, Yunta, Flinders, Maree,William Creek , Oodnadatta. I had better look at map sometime along the way

Is it time to start lobbying for the 2020 OCR venue?

If (as reported) it gets going again, the Betoota Hotel would be a great venue. An influx of 200 odd people (pun intended) would give them a great kick start.

There’s still the additional question of fuel availability, but if you carry enough to get through to either Birdsville, Windorah or Innamincka, it shouldn’t be a problem.

    What do you people reckon?

Well, I have a big trip planned to Townsville in June and had therefore decided not to bother with the OCR this year.
I figured I will have had enough seat time and was just going to do a quick run out to the Border the weekend before.

But, I have since been invited to join a couple of bush (semi) legends I respect on their OCR run, so ya’ll might see me there after all.
(Although if the boys take their outfits and then leave me struggling on the Wee in deep sand, I could be a bit tetchy when I finally arrive :D)

Sounds like a good call there DD, even though I've never made it to an OCR. I was looking forward to it being at Forrest/Rawlinna this year!!
Just read up about the history of Betoota and wow it sounds like a huge gamble and I wish these guys the best.

No point, the destination was voted on at the last OCR and was changed later on, no use voting, let’s work as a team, do it my way. :lol3

    Bully1,
Sorry mate (and if I remember correctly), there was no vote nor public discussion at Mungeranie as to the next venue. There was a just an announcement. The Forrest venue simply hadn't been thought through properly, hence the subsequent discussions and change via this forum.

So, why no vote at Mungeranie, have we seen a change for good and if so why??

It was thought through but so many on here that think they own the OCR have no balls or vision. If that's to blunt then get over it and move on. Life's about change.

+1 on what Beetle said. I don't usually chime in on this sort of stuff as it's a bit pointless, but it was thought through just fine, and the OCR itself is really not an Adv thing at all, or anything to do with the Border run either. I still don't see why it was put to a vote in here, and let's face a it, a lot of those who voted won't go no matter where it's held.
