When I load Topo 24k Southeast onto my Montana 650T, it becomes two. Two files on the GPS (see image below) and two map choices when in the dialog to select mapsI have deleted and re-loaded a couple of times (via BaseCamp right-click load maps), including trying to send it to the micro SD card I have in there, which has plenty of room on it.

What the heck? Does this make any sense at all? Any ideas on how to have just one? Should I care?

This does not happen with 24k Topo NE:

I have sent an email to Garmin support about this. Will see if they respond with anything useful.

According to Garmin it is a file size handling issue. The two files add up to >4GB and apparently one cannot transfer a file that large onto the unit, so the map installer breaks it into pieces. I do not know the root of that constraint, but there it is.

This means that I need both pieces, and that I need both to be enabled if I am using that set.

    So, there you have it.
