    Two things come to mind:

Did the guy intentionally design that building so he could cover it like that?

    - and -

I can't help thinking about all the people who collect old license plates...

and are happy to pay fifty or a hundred bucks (or more) apiece for the things! :eek1

    Could it be that
    the owner of this building
is the boss of a Vehicle Registration Office.

And he needs an answer of the question
where to go ore what to do
    with all the used numberplates:rayof

Note that 1947 plates are in numerical order. Although not side by side. Do you own this cabin?

    The mysterious Georgia Guidestones.
The mystery is why anyone thought these ideas were so profound that they should be carved in granite and displayed for eternity.

I bought this bike without my wife's knowledge. This character sums up her reaction when she discovered it in my shed 3 months later.

Just noticed this thread tonight. Here's a blast from my past circa 1979. My buddy and I and out wives on our Suzuki 850s stop for a break in the Central Valley of California. Location is in Caruters, CA. 12945 S Elm Ave., Caruthers, CA

A seemingly-uninteresting foot basin near one of Kiev beaches - totally unremarkable, one of many...

...unless you come nearer, step into it...

...and discover that its bottom is...paved with gravestones!

You can read the names and the dates they'd lived and died.

Now, come to think of it... Most probably they didn't actually tear these gravestones from people's graves, I think they just made use of what hadn't passed the quality control at the workshop these gravestones were being made...
    ...but still!

That would feel a bit eerie but good use of stones that didn't make it to their intended destination.

    It's inhumane.

They should've had all the inscriptions polished off before re-using them for pavement. Somehow just cannot imagine stepping in to wash the sand off my feet after the beach and seeing one of my late relatives' names.

In my view it's just one step short of pulling gravestones from Jewish cemeteries to use them for thresholds in their houses, like they occasionally did after WWII when the Jewish population had perished.
