You'll still be the guy with the much cleaner bike and a tall Mickey d's coffee stuck in your tailpack. And riding at much hire speeds.:eek1

I've seen it and I agree that it isn't a very sexy looking bike. But I still have to have one!

I've been around KTM's long enough to know that "Ugly" is a compliment. :D

I wouldn't have it any other way.

My last bike a 2008 Kawasaki 1400 concours was a great bike with all kinds of electrical stuff however an inoperative "security" ECU let me down in the middle of nowhere but it could have been a EFI ECU, fuel pump or other important part. Electronics are here to stay and we have to have a little faith and not worry about the mere microns of sand in any ECU that keeps us from walking...... :eek1

Looks are all based on your perspective. I think my 1190R is beautiful. But then again, I also have a V-Strom. Which I believe is universally accepted that it is the ugliest motorcycle ever built.

Reading all you 950/990 guys bitch about this and that on the 1190 is almost as funny as reading the Tenere threads and all their whining trying to justify their decision to purchase an over weight, under powered "reliable" bike. If your happy with your 950/990 bikes, then I'm happy for you. I can't even count how many times I nearly bought one myself. However, it was the 150hp that finally forced my hand to pull the trigger.

At the end of the day, KTM is a business like any other. They are going to build the bike with the features that they think will enable them to sell the most units. Only time will tell if the me2 design of the 1190 was a good move for them. Until then, we can all enjoy our respective bikes. :D

The 1190R wheels are tubeless? I looked at the bike at the NYC show, the
Non-R was tubeless but the 21/18 wheels on the R looked like tubes to me?
The rubber valve stem went into a hole in the wheel and was flexible while
the non-R had metal stems bolted to the wheels (like the Woody tubeless
rear on my 950). Just curious.

Those complaining about looks; I find this kind of embarrassing. I never buy a dirt or adventure bike for the 'looks.' My wife would but not me. :D

So I'm not saying that the looks are great or even good, I'm saying I don't care.

KTMs have never been about the looks. Not a single one I've owned had panels that fit straight without unsightly gaps, didn't have ergos that needed complete overhauls and harsh suspension and even more sadistic seats (the devil lives in Mattinghofen, I swear he designs KTM seats until 2012).

But guess what? KTM fans DON'T CARE. "It's the motor stupid!" should be their corporate motto and that is why KTM has been able to compete from basically nothing to a major brand in a decade. An amazing feat.

If the 1190's motor made mediocre torque/hp THEN you'd see what revolt really is. Everything else is along for the ride; and better than it has ever been.

    Just feeding trolls...:rofl
