David is right, I am not old enough yet.
The Col (my dad) is in the hospital -- some of you knew that.
They did a heart cath yesterday -- he has a valve that is not working, and two of the veins that were grafted two years ago have failed. They are scheduling surgery for either Friday or Monday, and will repair the veins and either replace or repair the valve. The docs are all very optimistic.
Two things that will interest all of you that know him -- first he stared for quite awhile at Fifth's new Duc (The Lawyer had a pic on her phone), and it clearly raised his spirits -- he was out of the cath lab for maybe an hour and had just gotten the news about the valve replacement.
He also told the docs that they need to get this squared away because he has motorcycles that are not worn out yet.
Any of you Hawkeyes following the adventures of EVOMX971, Kelly from Des Moines? It is the "What Next Wander Tour", in Ride Reports. He is on quite an adventure from IA to TX, NM,AZ and is now 4700 miles from home in San Diego,CA. In a week he will be on his way back home. Check this out.
Give our best to The Col. He is in our thoughts.
Please let him know that he is in our thoughts as well. And you might not want to let him look at pictures of Fifth's Ducati too much until after the surgery. You two still have alot of riding together left to do.
Been busy getting the Taco broken down and ready for sandblasting and polishing. Here are some pictures of the progress.
Engine all ready for polishing. Will start on it tomorrow.
Hell, anybody can take stuff apart.
fly is correct. Come have a look in my garage
BTW Ag, where are you at on my fridge handle? I need it to continue putting it back together.
Trying to weld it right now. Its being a bitch. Remember i can only take shit apart and not put back together, so i got it cut in half, but seems that i can't welded it back together.
will keep you posted on it.
Laughed out loud driving down the road! Weld a bid 'ol "N" in the middle of that sumbitch.
Looks like Husky is going orange. Glad I didn't run out and buy one.
This is probably a good thing. I didn't want to see a Husqvarna maxi-scooter any time soon.
I can think of other reasons why you should be glad you didn't buy a Husky....
Yeah, I think you are right. Just when I thought they (BMW) were going to get it right. Might just be time to sell the 610 and look for something orange.
690 enduro is the only thing that is comparable. I would have gotten one if they were available at the local dealer.
It was a toss up between the 610 and a 690 when I found this one.
That's dumb. Who cares who owns them now! Your (and PJ's) Husky is an awesome bike. It's no DRZ....but it's damn close.
BTW, the wee strom has left the building.
