Has anyone heard of School Creek ORV near Milford, KS?
I was just chatting with my wife's cousin about dirt bikes and 4wheelers, and he said it's some of the best riding within several hours.

One of the mechanics that used to work with me was from Milford, Kansas. He said the trails were alot of fun, but said you didn't want to ride there on the weekends. Too many people and too many of them were drunk.

While I would never tell you to give money to anyone,...I would ask you to look at it in two different ways. 1). People helping John fund his trip, for many people including myself, is a way of 'paying it forward'. I have my trip planned and a date set. I cannot leave now because I have a family and bills to pay. But when I do set off, you can be assured the inevitable will happen (breakdown/sick/lost/cold/tired/hungry) and I will depend on the kindness of strangers to get me through. I believe my extension of kindness to John in the form of a $$$ for a tank of gas or two, and a beer is the simple act of spreading good fortune that will someday be repaid in a different form by a different person. 2). I have received many tens of hours of entertainment through reading John's RR. In fact many more hours of entertainment that I can look at over and over, at much less cost than seeing some crappy film(s) Hollywood continually tries to shove down my throat.

John has taken the time, and effort to chronicle his RR when he has no obligation to do so. His RR continues to inspire others to do the same; and his knowledge of boarder crossings, sights to see, help received along the way, and beautiful pictures help restore my faith in human nature/nurture.

My assumption to follow may be misplaced and if so, I apologize ahead of time: Is your slight resentment of other people helping to fund John's RR a manifestation of your inability to do something similar due to whatever reasons; i.e. job/family/bills/???

They show up in your Public Profile. If you want everyone to see them, add them to your signature!

Glad you decided to post -- all good.

Everybody else -- Dave is a good guy, and yeah, he's from Gordon. Raises vegetables as I recall. Met him at the BMW RA rally last summer at Copper Mountain in CO.

I didn't mean to come off as someone who wouldn't help if needed....or that I didn't like the guy because he gets to go riding while I am home wiping snotty noses and changing diapers :cry I would gladly help anyone I could when they needed it, weather I know them or not. :deal I did post in his thread, and made sure he knew about Fifth Fest, since it's only an hour or so from his home. Maybe he will attend, and I can tell him sucks in person...you know, because he got to go ride down south all winter. :lol3

If anyone want's a beer, let it be known that I have some in my garage. Stop by, and you can have a cool'n whenever you want :deal Just paying it forward.

(yes, I'm in "a mood". My son has a cold, and my wife goes back to work in less than three weeks. That means I will be at home with a 2mo old, and a terrible two, tantrum throwing boy. NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS AT ALL!) :huh
