This place got a great review in Celebrator Beer News:

    http://www.oldedepotpublichouse.com/

I think Chris mentioned it also. It's vegan, which doesn't bother me and I'm sure there is a work-around for the hard core Neanderthals :lol3. Maybe some of the Oaklanders can swing by and check it out.

And date? Maybe 2nd week in July or 3rd?

Or.......there is a NEW Beer Garden in Oakland Jack London Square, on the water.

""Oakland is getting itself a shiny new beer garden — and then some.
Brotzeit Lokal describes itself as a “Bavarian-inspired restaurant and biergarten” with a boathouse to boot.

Located along the waterfront, near the 9th Avenue Terminal in the Oakland Marina, the project’s name stems from the German word for “snack.” The chef is Lev Delany of nearby Chop Bar, which is about a five-minute drive away. The menu features sausages, wiener schnitzel, roast chicken, and a burger made with Marin Sun Farms beef and Firebrand bread. There is plenty of beer on draught and in bottles, of course, both from Germany and California,.""

They got MEAT. Opened on June 15th.

    Winner?

I've been eating a shade grown, free range, fair trade, vegan free diet. If they have whiskey, I'm in!

How about joining us for the Robby Fund wings night? July ten at Buffalo Wid Wings at Westgate Mall on Saratoga Ave in San Jose? A percentage of every wing order goes to Bay Area Kids with Cystic Fibrosis.

How 'bout we all just show up at gringostd's with a bunch of food and drink and say

    "SURPRISE!!!"

    :hide

(and the wing fund raiser is good, I take enough flack for trying to get folks to the East East Bay but can't figure out how to get south by going east...)

    Hey All.

How about German meat, Wednesday, July 17th? Just trying to bring both sides to the table. And as a concession I will spring for some carrots and twigs for the whole group.

    Cheers

Make sure my twigs are redwood, as I have an allergic reaction to Oak.

We thought you left the planet! :rofl. German is sounding really good to me right now. Especially since I haven't eaten anything in 48 hrs. :dg
    17th seems good too.

Hey! I still have to milk some route advice out of you for my Utah/Colorado trip. So 16th or 18th works as well as any for me.
