The Westfest 2018 Rally is a camping and motorcycling meetup event which will be held at Ouray KOA September 13-16, 2018; Ouray, CO

Only street legal (plated and DOT equipped) motorcycles with current registration and insurance coverage or CO OHV Stickered are allowed. Each must comply with Colorado Legal Traffic Code and National Forrest Statute concerning use, transport, or portage of motorcycles in the San Juan region of Colorado. See to it the motorcycle is in good running condition, properly maintained and with essential tools and spares. Spark arrestor is required and no loud pipes!!!!

The resort is adjacent to lands managed by Bureau of Land Management and the National Forrest Service. Whenever entering the national forrest, it is your responsibility to know the rules and regulations governing the use of the National Forrest and BLM lands and to abide fully. Be respectful to other people and treat the environment with care. Do not do anything that will get the attention of the public officials and visitors that will leave negative impressions to the group or the event. Purchase a OHV pass if required and display it on your bike.

Participation is completely voluntary and, by registering, you take responsibility of your action and accept 100% of any risk or liability that you may incur.

Your payment does not include a guided ride nor an entitlement to a group ride. Thanks to those people who will volunteer to lead, help or organize a group ride. The ride leaders are not getting paid, so please give them the respect and your support. It is your choice to participate in a group ride or not.

Think of your safety before you join a group, review the ride plan and see if you or your bike fits in; be honest with your riding skill and physical capability. If you find the ride situation beyond your ability, you have the option to stop and turn around, however you must notify the ride leader of your decision before leaving the group.

If you prefer to ride alone, check in with your friends or camp neighbors; tell them your plan and the expected time of your return. Likewise, once you returned to camp, notify them in person that you’re back.

We prohibit the use of any illegal drug or the consumption of alcohol while out on a ride. Be considerate to the safety of others and think of public’s perception.

Due to the remoteness of the places you will visit, we advise you bring a Spot Tracker or similar tracking device, plenty of water, first aid kit, enough fuel and have the means to get you and your bike to a safe location or where help is available. There is no support vehicle nor a search and rescue team to assist you. The nearest medical facility is at least 60 miles away. Be self-sufficient, friendly and form a team with your fellow riders. A group has a bigger chance of making it back to camp or finding help. Lastly, always bring warm clothing in the event you have to spend the night when the overnight temperature will get very cold.

I, the undersigned, do hereby agree with the terms of participation and release any action towards the organizers and volunteers, from any loss, injury, expense, damage, cause of action, or any claim whatsoever, which may arise out of or about the event and my participation therein.

I have the consent of the people I’m paying for that they all agree with the terms of participation and to email a sign copy toK John Wood – jwrover@yahoo.com

That PayPal link goes to Kenneth Wood. Not to WestFest2018Ouray. Or am I misunderstanding?

Update: I just logged into my PayPal account and searched on WestFest2018Ouray. They don't have anything on this.

Hope you get this squared away. I've heard a lot about this event and I don't want to miss this years.

    Thank you,
    Doug

So the PayPal Account is an old one of mine. My full name is Kenneth John Wood. As Westfest2018 is not a legal entity the only way to set up the Paypal was to use an old account of mine and label the Paypal.me invoice as Westfest2018.

The Paypal account is not connected to any bank account. It will spool the money within Paypal and I will keep clear records for anyone who wants to see them. The moneys will be used for meals, bbq, beer, t-shirts and any proceeds or left overs will be donated to Ride with Respect to support regional trail projects.

It's the best I could come up with in short notice. People wanted the details this month so they could reserve vacation time at work.
If any individual has a concern about this, go ahead and complete the form and pay cash when you arrive.

    Thanks
    John

PayPal says you only accept payment through your website and wouldn't complete my transaction. Thank you for taking the time to do all of this setup.

I'll send in my registration even if I'm not 100% sure I can make it. It *is* on my calendar and I will try to attend as it would be my second WF as well. Got officially de-noobed in BV.... ;)

Thanks to you all for your efforts and time!

In "except for PayPal". Sent in signed registration forms, and booked a KOA tent site. We rode to Lake City from Silverton and some of the passes last Sept. It was spectacular, even if we did get a little rain.

Scheduling these things is NOT an easy task....I'm sure they checked on as much as they could. You simply have to choose sometimes!

Not that I've had the same issues or anything........................;-)

That, and KTM is always the last one to announce anything by a long shot.....it makes matters really tough.

Is there going to be an option similar to the event in Steamboat for tenting? If I remember correctly it was $10 night/person with us just craming tents in in an area that would normally be 15 or 20 regular tent sites.

And thanks for stepping up to organize this. I love Ouray and look forward to doing some more riding there. Got married at the Ice Park on a climbing trip in 2004 and have been there over a dozen times to climb in the winter, but have not ridden in the area much.
