Meet my new girl. She's 20, Ukrainian, black......and almost 600lbs. I sold my Tengai on Thursday to a fellow Adv'er. I'll miss it, but it's time for a new chapter in my bike life. I also have a 2002 Dakar, so two 650 DS bikes was a little unnecessary. Two days later, I dragged home it's replacement! She's a 1993 Dnepr MT-11. Previous owner used it to drive his kids around the neighbourhood but they've grown up. It has 3000km on the clock. I took the cash from the Tengai, pulled some more out of an ATM, and made a break for the Dnepr. She's too hefty for one 2x6. The one on the sidecar side snapped while we were trying to load it. Luckily nobody got hurt, especially the Dnepr. Anyway, it's in pretty good shape. PO is very handy with a wrench it seems. Carbs were just rebuilt and need to be synched, but aside from that it shouldn't need much. It has spark, no leaks, battery still has juice. K301 carbs, which I hear were a bit problematic. We'll see if it's worth upgrading. The previous owner made the exhaust himself. Apparently the stock one sounded too much like a sewing machine. He included the original in the sale, which I'll probably reattach. Otherwise my neighbours may slash my tires. Here's some more pics! I love how the speedo goes to 140. Like that'll ever happen... It looks like the key to some USSR dungeon. but I assure you, it fits in the ignition. The N is backwards........should i be worried??
