Maybe the wrong place to ask but... I've got an opportunity to purchase an almost complete 14' CRF250L MINUS the frame and a few odds and ends. " If " I were to buy a brand new frame from bikebandit etc...and put street legal bike together. Could it be registered in Oklahoma ? Thanks for any input.

I'm just guessing here, but I've heard yo have to transfer the vin from the old frame to the new. Don't know if you have to cut out the section with the vin and weld in to the new or just stamp the vin into the new. Either way you have to show proof of the old frame's #'s. best just to call the DPS.

There is a process to tag/register a manufactured vehicle. Oklahoma Tax Commission motor vehicle section is who to ask.

Went for a ride today. Killed me not riding the past couple days. Just can't keep warm when it's below 27F.

Thanks for your response. Probably best to call DPS before I spend a dime. I don't have access to the original frame as it was "supposedly " used in another project??? Even if I did, I wouldn't think it wise to go chopping and cutting VIN #s from one frame to another. Doesn't tampering = theft ? Or invalid?

You're right, guvment sucks. I just want to put a motor in a frame. Tag it, ride it, hell sell it and funds go towards an FE 501

The title is assigned to the frame, right? You can transfer every single other part from one frame to another.

Doesn’t matter if the frame is off the shelf or from a salvage yard if you have a clear title. :deal
