Which group will you be riding in? Sounds interesting. I'm not used to riding in a group while DS riding but I'm thinking about it.

    Hey Dsrydr...

I signed up for the Intermediate group... let the crazy folks go in the fast group...

I tend to ride by my self most times... but went recently to a group ride in Arkansas, called the Arkansas 500 and it was a lot of fun... A friend of mine talked me into this Kansas ride and now he is moving to Colorado... he didn't expect to sell his house in one day...

    Arkansas 500

I'm going to head up from work at lunch-time on Friday of and take the two lane state highways and such up there...

    Hey All

So Saturday i went to a day long (6 hours) motorcycle safety class that the Edmond Police Department puts on for free. The officisors are all motorcycle cops and they sure can whip those gaint bikes through the cones. I've been through it before and i think it is much better then the MSF class i had to take to get my endorsement. It is open to anyone, there was even a guy from Kansas.

Here is the website... Motorcycle Class

    Peter

P.S. saw a lot of big cruiser guys dump their bikes... nothing serious...

Fallis (hehe) and Meridian are short rides from the metro that get you some dirt roads too.

Now. I slept in and it's 11AM. Anything going on involving bikes in the metro area...or within a couple hours of it...today?

So disappointing that they couldn't bother spelling it "Phallus." Just don't have the decency that the people living between Intercourse, Blue Ball, Beaver, and Pleasant Gap PA have. Otherwise you could start in Gay, OK (only exists as a USGS place name), slide up through Bowlegs to Phallus, then head on up to Beaver and Hooker. Of course, if your mama knew of the plan, you'd have to avoid Slapout.

As far as I know, it's a make your own fun day. Might be a good day to take the back roads to Clear Bay Cafe at Thunderbird. EDIT: Sorry, thought your post was tagged today, not Yesterday.

The American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure bicycle event needs some volunteers and their motorcycles to ride the 60, 45, 30 and 18 mile bike courses to assist any bicycle riders who might have mechanical problems or have crashed. The event runs on the 23 of June and the 60 mile riders will take off on their course at 07:30 from Wild Horse Park Town Center, with the other course riders departing at staggered intervals about 1 hour apart.

Volunteers will get a tee-shirt and be fed. The will also receive some amount to reimburse their fuel expense.

The contact person for the entire event is Araine Cash, and her phone number is 405.840.3881 ext 3881. Her email address is acash@diabetes.org.

on a warm summer night in the panhandle, if yer lucky, you can catch the hooker hornytoads playing the beaver dusters....

    in baseball.

i'm in the village but from guymon originally. been riding dirt bikes for close to 40 years. pretty much have ridden every dirt road on either side of 74 to guthrie, cashion, okarche, navina, stillwater and points north and west of the metro. been over just about every box-iron bridge on the backroads of kingfisher county. i've taken dirt roads to canton, tulsa, etc. let me tell ya, there's some real gnarly dirt roads out there.

used to fish liberty lots. love that little lake, no wake, no dickheads. backside lake trails are fun at liberty and great there's some spots to moto camp. just about every small town municipal lake in oklahoma has some form of two-track trails around it. i used to just get on the drz and get lost, every weekend.

take knobbies. it's probably pretty sticky out there after the rains.

name is snoid. nice to meet ya.

Hey Snoid ! What's up brother...

I'm fixing to get on the GS this afternoon and do the Draper Lake loop... With a little exploration of some of the dirt around the lake...

Maybe I'll get myself a trail permit now that I've got the GS back up to snuff...:clap

But first I have to go to Edmond and pick up a pool.....O figure if I buy a pool then it won't get so friggin hot this summer..
Last summer was a no ridin' bitch...

If you see a Red R-100GS that'll be me...

I'll be there in the truck around Noon or so... I think Bill Dragoo is riding out there and entering his newly acquired classic enduro in the show.

Gerald at Performance Cycles put on a local dualsport ride last year... the Sooner Adventure ride. Mostly Dirt roads, some trails that wound up at Guy Coopers house, and then on to Seba station.

On the way back a few of us rode the river for a ways... theres some fun trails back in there if you know where to look.

Theres dirt trails near the shoreline around Draper... public access. not sure how far they go around.

Big bikes will be OK on the green trail and grass track trails in the off-road riding area at Draper. You better be in shape taking a big-bike on the other trails... They'll wear you out as they're a bit tight.

James Pratt occasionally organizes a dualsport hooligan ride called the Urban ASsault Ride around the city chasing GPS waypoints. Tons of Fun.

(FYI) James owns / Publishes Adventure Rider Magazine
His son is now the manager at the local Cycle Gear. Adam is great up there.

    Hey all...

anyone want to go riding this Saturday... I'm game for what ever, inspired from riding around last weekend in the flint hills of Kansas... they have some cool roads in a rollin' hills prairie kind of way, and some neat old towns as well... surly we have the same around here, somewhere.... so if no one responds i'll head out by myself to see what is around binger in the way of dirt roads and blindly go exploring...

I'm willing to go anywhere and don't care about the heat...(you know we do live in Oklahoma) anyway...

    Hey All

Since no wanted to go with me i headed out yesturday by myself. I choose to head South West of the City, starting somewhere south of Mustang... Traveled 180 miles and about 50 or 60 miles were paved.

Heading east i made my past and south of Minco then headed north of Binger... The area north of Binger was sand from hell... here is a link to the section i'm referring to... SANDY ROUTE

I made my way south down by Anadarko then meandered my way back to the city... Going to try and see if can figure out how to post some pics...

    Traveled some roads like this...

And found some roads like this...

This road was all talk, or should i say all sign... anyway...
