I'm glad this guy is back on ESPN. He's very funny.

Catch him at 11pm on the deuce.

Sent from the basement. Hey Ma more meatloaf.

I've watched a couple of shows. I like it. He's a born TV entertainer, regardless of your opinion of him. A latter-day Howard Cosell, if you will.

Last night his opening monologue was a Labor Day tribute to Marvin Miller, whom baseball management still dislikes so much that they reconfigured Hall of Fame voting to make sure he never gets in.

The only problem I see is that Olbermann carries an entire hour on his lonesome, only two interview segments to break it up. That's an awful lot of work.

Enjoy while you can. He'll be gone in a year or so.

I had a couple of good nights watching Olbermann. Glad to see he's back.

I get the impression that he has a real problem with authority. I dunno how long he'll last at ESPN. His ratings will determine that, I guess.

If the show does well, he'll have career options again and might start misbehaving. For now, I think he wants it to work. Plus, he's in New York, far enough away from Bristol to minimize direct contact with the hated brass.

I doubt he changes his stripes. Either he gets mad and quits or they get sick of his crap. He won't last...Tim Tebow has better prospects.
Plus, someone else always seems to give him another chance, I doubt he is worried about his behavior. He can do stocks next or the garden channel. Keep spinning the wheel.

Too bad dan patrick moved to nbc, the two of them together was some of the funniest stuff out there. Besides trying to cut each other up, their juvenile behavior and constant need to mention Dick Trickle's finishing spot in the nascar segments would go over better here than with the average sports fan.

for those of you scoring at home, or even alone.........:rofl

No one is worse than Chris Berman.

Now that Craig James is off the air, he's near or at the top of my list.

But Berman seems to be becoming a cultural icon. When his father died recently (a sad day for anyone, to be sure) ESPN had commentators on every college football game mention it and pass along their commiserations. For his father dying!

    Agree that's a bit much.

But I like Berman, he's funny with a good smart wit.

His sound effects on replays are great too.

Only commiseration I'd have offered was dismay that he didn't die before his dad. :deal (Just because Waterwheel has the "I'm an asshole" thread doesn't mean he's the only one. :lol3)

Cultural icon? How depressing. Of course, folks say that about Cosell too and I was a fan of Cosell.

I though Berman was already dead and his ghost just haunted ESPN.

I wasn't saying he's the only one. Given the world's population it's a long list on the nonspecific side, but not too long on the specific side. :dunno
