They've made a new section that goes around it, but this section has been sitting there for quite a while. It slides deeper and deeper every time I go through.

Me and my friend Neale out and about on Vancouver Island North of Campbell River! Coming out of one of the trenches dug across the road to stop vehicles from travelling up it. It did not stop Neale on a BMW F800R with street tires....
Not necessarily abandoned, but old for sure.

Experimental, as in it was built to test asphalt formulations, grades, paving techniques, etc. But giggling at G-force application too...

A portion of the Old Military Road along the banks of Sallisaw Creek near the former site of the Flint Courthouse, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. The road ran from Ft. Smith, AR to Ft. Gibson, I.T., mid to late 1800's.
The road cut doesn't show up well in the pic's but is easily visible in person.

Sugarloaf Key, FL FL939B, near the KOA if you are looking for it. Apparently it used to be the main route south. Hasn't been THAT for a lot of years
