I do have a /2 sidecar rig, and I do have a VW powered /2.

Yours is a nice, clean and complete rig. I'd love to have it. :evil

I'm not a /2 or VW expert, though. It's probably worth $5000 if running. As-is, as a friends dads bike, man.. tough call.

If you do resurrect it, take plenty more pics and share them with us!

    Really?

Yep as some have posted in this thread they do indeed exist.
A couple BMW dealers made kits or would build you one.
Actually until just recently Webley/Vickers would sell you
pretty much everything you needed. The main players were Butterfield,
    Willis, Brown and W/V.

Most dedicated to these type bikes is the Yahoo groups VWMOTORCYCLES group.
It gets active then dies down all the time. The coolest of all builder's is Bud Burkey! Hands down, builds modern, rip snortin, VW motorcycles!

People either like them or hate them, very little in-between emotions on these period conversion bikes.

Me? I have a Butterfield that has a 1600 single port, kick start only, fun as hell /2.

I first saw one of those 40 yrs. ago that the BMW Dealer in Marin had. I had the pleasure of seeing it again a couple years ago. He's name is Duane Asherman and he's retired now, but has a webpage with lots of good info on BMW Airheads. It was awesome seeing the bike again after only seeing it once 40 yrs. ago. He sold the bike a couple years ago.

When I talked to him about the VW/BMW he did say it tends to make your feet hot as there is also an exhaust pipe on the back side of the engine right in front of your feet.

    I'd give him a call or e-mail.

His web page for the VW is: http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/BMW-VW/index.htm

This is one he keeps in his living room.

We all wish our SO would let us decorate the same way.

Mrs B got pissed for parking mine in the kitchen for 6 months.
We didn't have a garage and theft was a problem.

OP - Nice looking VW/BMW rig.
I wouldn't disclose the location of it though.
We are a bunch of sneaky bastards around here.
