I took a bike ride up to Rocky Mountain National Park today and rode Old Fall River Road up to the top of the pass. This is a one way road that used to be the original road going over the pass, up until Trail Ridge Road was constructed. Like the name implies, there are falls along the road and the scenery is breathtaking. It rained, hailed and snowed on the way up. It was a great ride!

I shot these photos with my K20D and Super Takumar 28mm F3.5 lens. The air wasn't as crisp/clear as it usually is up here because of the large wildfire in the area.

The craters in these two mountains were producing clouds. The clouds got to be pretty large after a while.

Beautiful pictures! This road was a favorite of mine on a trip I did this year. I bounced a good sized Marmout off my skid plate on the upper half of the road (he was fine) :lol3, and came around a corner at a spirited pace to see this guy at the lower portion of the road...

I'm jealous, talk about beautiful. That one of the craters was cool.

Thanks for the RR, and showing us a great part of this BIG ASS country of ours!:clap

    One of my favorite roads.

The mountains with the clouds you mentioned are a great hike. Three peaks in 7.5 miles. Last time I was up there, there were 6-8 big male elk chilling in the grass right off the trail.

Good snowshoeing once the road is closed for winter.
