airborn.JPG 34 seconds into my commute home, I had just shifted out of second into third when an old lady in a four door veered into my lane. I was heading WB when she began her left turn so early that it put her in the WB lane heading EB....yes the wrong way. With a truck behind her leaving no way to go left and with her setting up to turn to right, I had nowhere to go but up and over. By the grace of God, I had enough time to hop off the pegs as the front of my Buell Ulysses hit her right front headlight. I did the most spectacular Superman over her car and sustained a broken wrist and sprained ankle. The Buell was a total loss and I have since replaced it with a 2008 GSA.
The pic is from my handlebar mounted GoPro as it came out of its case and continued to record. Someday I'll post the video to Youtube but not until the insurance companies stop bickering over who pays what........
You can see me in the background rolling around and the Buell is airborne.

Not bad for a head on. Glad that was all.
They should have to pay double for the Buell......

    This became this.

The forks were pushed back into the header and snapped it in two places. The forged front wheel had a chunk broken out of it.

Man, you did luck out. That could've been a lot worse.

Good thing the bicycle wasn’t on back. That might have hurt you and your walet. Glad it wasn’t worse..

    Glad you're ok!

How fast do you think she was going at the time of collision? You? Just curious and I understand if you don't answer.

Good luck with insurance and a quick recovery!

Sad you had to wreck to get your post count up to 5. Maybe we'll see more of you while that wrist etc heals.

That is an amazing shot in the first post! Sorry about the Buell.

In years to come you're going to have some arthritis in the injured joints. I know I have arthritis, don't forget to claim future problems with her insurance company and don't settle for less than you deserve!
