While exiting his truck to watch fireworks on the fourth of July along Titusville Beach

My cousin was struck in the head

Melted the keys in his hand along with the soles of his shoes

    Miss him

His younger brother was getting out of the passenger side and was fine

What a thing to witness though

Sorry the hear that JD... Peeps underestimate also from how far lightning can strike. Seen many storms on the ocean but lightning scares me the most..

If you think that's bad, just wait till you go on a CADS ride.

    You do ride don't you?

    Them snakes are real.

Friend and I pulled this one out of my chicken coupe outside of Orlando about ten years ago. Shoulda seen my face when I opened the hen house to collect eggs that afternoon. :arg

Tasted like chicken. With lots of lead pellets in it. :dukegirl

Seeing the photos, it doesn't look like a hole at all. Is it filled with water or mud?

Thought it was a water moccasin/cottonmouth due to the thickness for its length. It was like a linebacker!

That big fat black snake may be an Indigo - the only way I can tell is the color of the belly. White = black racer. Blue = Indigo. We have lots of black racers around here and they never get that thick. Unless maybe that's a female carrying a bunch of eggs.

BTW, juvenile black racers aren't black but remind me of Pine Snakes with a black mottled pattern on white background. They have huge eyes that they grow up to match in size. At about 12-14 inches they start turning to black and the pattern disappears. At least that's what I see around here.

Sanjoh, that snake is built like an indigo, but it's hard to tell by that pic. One of my favorite reptiles ever!
Jake, that retic would have been eating chickens/eggs for quite some time. I've grown them that big in less than a year from hatching:nod
