Oops, I broke a plug

    Yes, I'll put the filter in a better place next time.

    And ideas other than hardwire / solder

    As long as the wires and terminal contact tunnels are still intact, if you clean off all oil and dirt, then apply Araldite and glue it back together, it should be as strong (if not stronger) as before?

    Oh dear - that's not good. See if you can find a second hand harness in your region and cut/splice the loom end near you broken bit.
