Kicking off my ride report for a long-awaited trip from my home, near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the far North of Alaska. All going well, my KTM 1290 SA and I will cover some 11,500 miles over the course of around 30 days, travelling over some of the most scenic and remote roads in North America. Departure for Calgary will be Friday 18th May. I'll be booking it up to Calgary then taking a few days to fly to New York for my daughter's college graduation. The trip will resume on Saturday 26th. I need to be back home on or about 24th June. Here's a map I created when planning my route. I will travel "up" on the East side of the Canadian Rockies and back "down" on the West side (sort of.) I'll be sharing this report with family and friends (and anyone else interested.) The report should include lots of photos and include a tracking map and other resources for those who want to follow along.
