Man, thanks so much! That was really cool how you called the Hostel. As I was leaving, the girl behind the desk came running up to me asking if I knew Diegoteck!

When I get back to my bike tomorrow (if it's not raining) your name is going on the tank!

And I'll hit you up as soon as I get into Argentina for some advice!

    Ulyses,

Amazing ride report and photography! I have to agree the weather combined with your photography skills resulted in stunning pictures of Machu Picchu.

I was fortunate to ride the same route in 2011, and the cliff-side track from Santa Maria to Santa Teresa is one I will never forget:

Did you meet Alex Luna at Peru Moto Tours? We rented through his outfit and he is a great guy to work with.

All the Best for the remainder of your journey,

I could only eat one....it cost 50 Soles ($25)! If you want to sell a dead rat to someone for a lot of money, just take it to Peru and deep fry it.

Sure thing! Thanks to you! How's Apple Valley these days? I used to drive through there on my way up to the Sierra Nevada when I lived in Twentynine Palms.

We did talk with Alex. He was really helpful, even though we weren't renting from him. He gave us stickers and a paper map showing how to get to Santa Theressa. Plus he rents a ton of XR650L's. Seems like a guy after my own heart!

I am still using the highway pegs. They work great and they confuse the hell out of all of the South Americans. They always ask me what the extra pegs are for...they think that they are extra brakes or shifters. I have to tell them "para descansar en la autopista" (to rest on the highway), which they still don't understand.

Looks like you had fun getting my truck stuck....is the four wheel drive not working?

I'm jealous you got to get on your skis....you want to try and hit up the Eagle Caps when I get back?

I'm glad your getting good use out of them. I skied all of 500 vertical feet, but it was a blast being out in the good weather with good company. I think South Sister will have a better approach (one I know and won't get to lost on).

    Bryce,

I've been following your rr since Scott clued me in on it and I have to say that it's truly amazing! Those pics- WOW!!:clap
Also, I have it on good authority from another cuy eating local here who was down there somewhere this last year that you should stay away from the home brew booze with a scorpion in it. (think space gravy):eek1

Looking forward to more and thank you sir.
