    Love the reference (Tio Juanito also caught it). Remember that the somewhat pathetic and helpless Telemachus did step up to vanquish the interlopers, and in doing so finally became a man himself.

    I have the feeling that our hero, Ulyses (sic) still has many adventures for us.

    Temps in the mid 70s for the next few days and then down into the 60s next week. Headed to Johnson Valley this AM to use my rockcrawler.

    Wow, just finished you RR. Great report, and what an awesome adventure! I'm planning a RTW trip and now after reading this SA is now a must do! I hope this is not the end of your travels.

    Welcome back!

    It took a lot of time and effort to update the RR and add all those photos. Thanks for taking us along!

    Bryce,

    I just finished reading your RR. It took me about 3 weeks in my spare time. I just want to thank you so much for such a well written and, what appears to me as, an honest account of your Adventure. At 45 years old and up to my eyeballs in debt, I may never get to take this type ride, so thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through you. I've read several reports and yours, by far, is one of the best yet. Glad you're home safe, but don't get too comfortable; you need to keep all the desk jockeys like me entertained. :clap

    Well, I've been back for a few days now. Still waiting on the bike to get in. It's about a week behind schedule. I've called United and they said that it would be in Portland on Tuesday. Since I have an interview with a prior service recruiter in Portland on Wednesday, I'll probably be heading back down then.

    I know alfabc and a couple of other inmates have expressed interest in meeting up for a beer; if you are in the PDX area and want to get together, hit me up through the thread and maybe we can all meet up somewhere! :freaky

    I'm still working on a conclusion post. Unfortunately, it's been hard to force myself to get on the computer. After posting nearly everyday for six months, the last thing I want to see right now is a computer screen! :lol3

    I followed your trip from the start to the finish and you almost became part of my family. Anyway keep us posted on your future exploits and good luck.

    Glad to hear you made it back to Oregon, hopefully the mustache survives the trip home. Although if it made it this far, I'd be surprised if a bit of turbulence shook it loose. If you're in Portland and visiting Justin, let's get a bite or something.

    No doubt! Nothing wrong with taking your time to ponder your voyage from a distance while enjoying the creature comforts of home. A conclusion probably shouldn't be too hasty, anyway, as thoughts mature - yet the flip side is that details eventually meld into generalities as maturity progresses. But then again, it's been a six-month trip! I imagine if it were me, I'd probably remember very few details of the first part. I bet an interesting experiment would be to compare immediate thoughts post-trip to those manifested after reading through your thread.

    Glad you made it back safely and hope the bike arrives in no more pieces than how you packed it!

    Bryce;
    just wanted to say thanks for all your effort in keeping this RR going... I've done a couple of RR's and they are a lot of work and can become a task master at times... thanks for sticking with it.:thumbup

    I also have to say that this has been one of the most informative, and honest RR's I've ever read... some of the best information on CA and SA I've seen. It has shown you to be an honest, straight forward guy who isn't perfect, makes mistakes, does dumb stuff, and overcomes all of it to achieve your goal!... :clap

    your youth and sense of invincibility is refreshing!:rayof

    it's been fun and interesting... again; thanks!
