I moved to Switzerland and need to get a Swiss license plate for my R80ST. Unfortunately the Swiss authorities are incredibly strict with replacement parts and I don't have the original handlebar (was not on the bike when I bought it). The Swiss accept the ABE (German: Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis) approved handlebars but I can't find one that includes the R80ST in the approved models.

Does anybody know of an ABE approved handlebar for the R80ST (TÜV is not enough) or know where I can get the original (hopefully without paying the equivalent of a new bike)? Or someone in Switzerland with an R80ST willing to lend me a handlebar?

PS. Haven't found any R80ST handlebars on ebay - only G/S.

I was working out of the parts fiche so I looked.....still available new from BMW.

    Two listed :32 71 2 307 401
    32 71 2 313 247 (heated grips?)

Both them numbers are applicable to other BMWs if that can help your search.

    Go there :http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/index.html

and punch the numbers in the "parts search" to see which other models you should be looking for on fleabay.
