Never ever give up, something good will happen!
Many many thanks for all the awesome fun reports/rides. I will always remember. Sandy and I give a true loving salute at one small motel/café in Del Norte each and every time we pass that spot.

Sandy and I did 7K to AK and back this past June/July . Sandy held her breath the entire 2.5 mile tunnel into Whittier , AK . No problems , just the tunnel LOL

    Fuck PB,
    Love your ride reports.
    This is so wrong.
    PB just screwed me also....
Gonna miss you guys, hopefully you will still post new reports with a better hosting site...

Thanks Kelly/Matt, you have been and are a real inspiration to the Moto World, as it is today! I have noticed something was going on with photobucket.; photo's today gone tomorrow. Revolt!

So glad to hear the Wans are still going! Was a bit worried that sumtin bad might have happened, given the previously regular thigh slappingly awesome rr's.

Ah, what a shame Kelly, all I can say is THANK YOU for the many hours of great entertainment reading your stories.
The amount of work you have in those is immense!
I lost mine too but it pales in comparison...

Let Matt know when he gets a "small" bike we can hit some Tecate trails where his trials training will come in handy :lift

Lame!! It sure sucks when you trust a business and they screw you over. I know how much effort you put into all of those fantastic reports.

I was hoping your post would be to tell me about a new ride report to look at.

Did you go to AZ for the World Trials Round? It was amazing.

i checked on my Photobucket account and it says if you were a paying customer prior to June 1, 2017 you have until December 31 2018 to use the service as you have meaning you will be able to share photos with the hyperlink to third party websites like ADVrider.
i've been at the 20gb paid service for a couple years now and i'm bummed at the change but it looks like we have time to move your pics to imgur or Flickr or another photo sharing site.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the sympathy/outrage - I know you're pissed too.
Sorry to hear that photobucket got @larryboy, @atomizer, @Moto Vaquero, and RAZR too. :(:
this is going to affect so many reports and HOW tutorials, it's super shitty.

@RAZR - but when they say "as long as you maintain your subscription" - does that mean at the new prices (cheapest being $59.99 a year)?
    I don't see the 20gb/$30 a year option anymore.
I've tried to contact photobucket a few times but I'm just getting the same robo emails for every question.
Paying $60 for one more year does seem like an option at this point.

I think I have until november to move my pics, but with the album downloading disabled, it's still a daunting task.
Has anyone else tried downloading one of their photobucket albums?
You have to go through all the "I am not a robot" bullshit, and then the download fails every time. At least it has for me.
Matt tried a bunch of times with his computer, too. We thought it was our VPN, but it doesn't seem to matter.
The only alternative is to download each photo individually.
It sure seems like photobucket did this to discourage people from moving to a different hosting service.

@dvwalker - I tried to google "photosh*theads" with no luck. Can you elaborate? I don't know what that is.

@MasterMarine - we didn't go but we heard it was pretty great!

I was wondering if PB was going to affect your threads, was really hoping it wouldn't. Your ride reports are legendary and so much fun to read!

I lost all my DIY threads I've done on numerous car forums, plus two build threads that are 75 and 150 pages respectively. Just like you, I'm not going through all those threads to re-populate the links. It's just too much work.

I don't have an issue paying for a service, but $400 a year is ridiculous. PB has literally broken the internet with this, think of the amount of knowledge they just wiped out.

I just re-read this report, awe inspiring as always....

About 75% off my photos that I have in picture and 640 how to threads are already gone, it was a dirty thing Photobucket did... And now they say $40 a month to restore my links..

Thanks for setting the bar so high OSO LOCO's.
    Trouble is ..no competition.
    And you have been missed.
To bad this ADV sight does not have deep e-nuf pockets to host all the photos on board in stead of relying on hi - jackers like photo bucket.
But you knew it had to come to this , right ? I had a vision of it.
You guys gave me inspiration with you RR's.

Yep, they screwed me over as well. There are some extentions in chrome that will hide the problem for now. Not sure how long that will last, though.

I was able to download all my albums. It sucked that I had to do all the sub albums individually, but it worked.

I hope you guys keep riding and doing reports. Your writing style is so much fun to read. And BigWan is a fucking legend. I have never been as uncomfortable watching a video as I was when you guys did Schofield. At night. In the rain. Gah, that was intense!

Kelly, isn't smugmug and advrider owned by the same person/group. I was under the impression (from adds) that there is a easy way to transfer YOUR images to another service.

i haven't gotten any emails stating that my rates will go up and my renewal is under a month away.
i'm assuming that you're grandfathered into this until December 31, 2018.
if this is the case, i'll hang tight for another year. maybe they'll get enough heat between now and then that someone will figure out a way to keep us vets of their service.

    Aw, man.
@docwyte @gunnerbuck @gravityisnotmyfriend ... Sorry to hear from more of you also being screwed by PB.

I hardly ever take photos anymore (that was just for RRs), but yesterday as Matt and I were driving down to the bay area...
    We saw this guy:

    @larryboy!

    :wave

There's like 7 million people in the bay area, what a funny coincidence.

Anyway, I thought I'd take this opportunity to try out some other kind of image hosting.

    Yeah. Nope. :nah
After screwing around with it for a while I gave up. Too many rules and hoops to jump through.
I just put it on photobucket.
So, don't worry Rob - if you don't like this pic it will be gone in no time. :rofl

At this point, I'm with @RAZR.
I'm just going to see what happens when our account renews in november.
Hopefully we'll be grandfathered in and after paying $60 or whatever, our pics will stay active for another year.
I just don't have the energy to screw around with photos, especially ones from years ago.
Hopefully this will keep the reports alive through 2018.
    And, if not...
    oh well.

    Letting it go...:flug

@Critic - apparently there was a thing called smugglr but it no longer works with photobucket.

@DiggerD - glad you got some inspiration from the reports. Looks like you were out having fun!
Matt recently got to ride a 2015 350 xcf-w six days and thought it was pretty awesome. Kid's bike or not  :lol3
I know in one of the past RRs you were telling him to try out a small ktm.

Speaking of that, I hope you all got sufficiently outraged about the Bikes for Beef Tax.
(proposed 100% tariff on European motorcycles under 500cc)
I know this is ADV, but it seems like almost everyone has a dirt bike too.
Do your part here if you haven't yet - https://cqrcengage.com/amacycle/app/write-a-letter?5&engagementId=369193

Matt and I signed petitions and wrote letters and did all the recommended AMA stuff back in january and march.
Not sure that it did any good, it sure feels like that tariff is going to happen.
I got a 2017 Beta (trials) just in case and I keep urging Matt to figure out what little bike he wants.

@Moto Vaquero - he doesn't have one yet!

All right you guys, thanks for stopping by and chatting.
I guess we'll see what happens with the pics...

Wrong, just wrong. While I miss seeing any new reports, we can't even go back to check out what we liked before? I check out your ride reports and maps all the time looking for locations etc. I guess I will just go outside and play! Miss you and Matt and am so sorry all your work may disappear soon.

I'm so sorry to hear about your ride reports, LittleWan. :cry I've only done one report, without any fancy clips or videos or crocheting traffic cones, and it felt like a lot of work for only a three week trip. Your months-long excursion reports are awesome. I'm so glad that you have them saved off as PDFs so you'll have them forever.
