You've probably noticed this response from ProCycle in the main DR thread but for those who haven't, here it is: "I expect to have the first batch of retainers ready around the first week of November. "

I seriously doubt ProCycle would allow individual orders to be combined in one shipping box. I also doubt they'd do any of the calculating involved. That would probably have to be the responsibility of the person who put the bulk order in.

You're probably right, but It can't hurt to ask. I'd like to think Jeff would see the benefit of helping us reduce shipping charges so we can spend more money on his stuff. He'd also only have one shipment to make.

Assuming this idea doesn't workout I'm willing to place an order for everyone but you would have to come to my place in Kanata to get your parts when the order comes in. I would just split all shipping, customs and duties charges in proportion to the weight of the parts, I have a good scale and I know how to use a calculator. I'd need money up-front for any orders over $100.

The next question that comes to mind is a cut-off date for putting in your orders. I'm in no hurry personally and it looks like we need to wait for the seal retainer anyway.

    Any thoughts?

I wouldn't mind getting it over with, once the parts are in stock. If we wait for multiple buyers to get their lists together and bundle it all together, it may get too complicated. The only other thing I'd like to get for the time being is a couple of alternator nut covers - ours are getting a little worn from overtightening, and someone (not me!) using the wrong size of Allen wrench on it.

I fear that the next time I need to turn the crankshaft via the nut, I'll have to really bugger up the inspection covers to get them off our bikes.

ProCycle has added the seal retainer to their site, though it's not going to be available until the start of November.

Looks very simple, compared to BergDonk's original design. (Click the image above to see the site)

OK it's on. I will take orders up to 9:00 on Saturday morning for items on the ProCycle page and place a group order shortly thereafter. Try to get your lists to me soon so I can verify everything. If you are ordering more than $100 worth of stuff please send me some money to cover it preferably and email money transfer not a check. I will let everyone know when the order has arrived and you can come pick it up at my place in Kanate then. I will weigh everything and divide all shipping charges up by weight. Please pay for your parts (and your share of shipping) before or as you get them from me. If you are ordering parts for other bikes please let me know so I can find them on the other ProCycle webpages.

Hey! Is a KTM rider allowed in on this group buy? Procycle has a wicked deal on oil filters for my 640.

Just so you all get to experience the shipping sticker shock before you commit to this group buy, add your items to the Procycle shopping cart and change the destination to Canada. Lets hope you'll pay less than that, but I can't promise anything.

I'm very tempted by this, and I may actually order a few items for the WR, but I've decided my DR will go on the auction block in the spring. Over the winter, I plan to return the DR back to stock condition as much as feasible. Will probably be looking to offload the RMZ front end, IMS tank, Seat Concepts and some other items at some point.

I'm looking for a luggage carrier, something better than the stock tube setup. Will you have anything like that to sell? Also looking for a better than stock bash plate.

Here it is, the middle of the Winter, and I'm out there in the cold garage installing my countershaft oil seal retainer...

    Fits very nicely.

Need to order a new countershaft sprocket though, before closing it up. Should have guessed it would be shot.

Only two more months of Winter to go, if we're (un)lucky.

This was on Feb 21, 2012...

And this was the 11th of March.

We got the carriers we were looking for from a Canadian source out in BC. Shipping was very fast, and the parts themselves seem well made and finished.

This is what they look like on my DR:

I'm fairly happy with them. The rear mounting arms have been drilled to add the turn signals to, so that saves a little weight.
