Not really, but Bob Marley's birfday at Ft.Hoskins slave encampment site is a go for the near future,, see if you can find out anything about this secretive, possibly cult related, event,,like the actual birth of jeezus,,only the manger animals were witness to the supposed event,,nobody trusts manger animals anymore,, not since the frikken cow burned down Mrs. O'leary's fishnet full length hose and panties,,and some sleazy nayborhood full of ill meaning scoundrels that needed elimination,, as some kind of frikken "NATION", but then,, if you had paid attention,,you would go for a piss about now!,,

Ninth Annual Bob Marley's Birthday Celebration, Sunday, 02/10/2013

    Bob Marley 02/06/1945

Need an excuse for a Sunday Ride!

    Here is one!

Sunday February 10,2013 @ Eleven Forty-Five AM. Meet and celebrate Bob Marley's Birthday @ Ft Hoskins Park, Hoskins OR.

This is the NINTH YEAR! It has been a lot of fun.

This is a no host event. Riders will bring their own food, plates, utensils, coffee cup and music to participate. On site: a picnic table, charcoal and grill to prepare your celebratory dinner. If you want to share food, bring something everyone will enjoy! Each rider should bring a piece of firewood!

Directions: Head west from Corvallis OR on Highway 20. Go through Philomath and stay on Hwy 20 a few miles. Turn off at Wren OR onto OR Hwy 223.

HWY 223 goes N towards Kings Valley and eventually Dallas OR.

Follow Hwy 223 approx 6 miles N. Turn left to Hoskins. There is a rural Fire Station opposite the turn. Ft Hoskins Park sign is about 1/4 mile just after the LH turn off Hwy 223. Proceed West and follow signs to Park.

Use first gear at Park entrance. It is paved, but steep with a sharp RH turn almost immediately. Once past that, you will be rewarded at the top of the hill.

This is a newly designated Benton County Park. Ft Hoskins was sited there from 1856 to 1866.

    Hope to see you there!

Disclaimer: This is a fun event. Celebrating Bob's Birthday in no way condones drug use, illegal items or supports his way of life. We picked Bob because it was the only other significant event listed on the search engine! Ja Mon!

I see Ft. Hoskins is about 90 miles and less than 2 hours. Just a short "Juant" really! Any PDX'ers heading that way? If the weather holds I might run down there.

I'm planning on it depending on my success in replacing the chain and sprockets on the Strom in the next few days.

It was my first project in my new rented garage. It actually went very well! i only scraped one kunckle. Usually this job involves at least two smashed knuckles that end up filled with black grease. :lol3

I ran out of time to button it all up, but the dirty work is done. I'll finish it up tomorrow morning and be ready to roll to Filow-meth.

Hey Scott and Timbo....where do you want to meet? I'm planning on heading through Farmington, 219 thru Newberg, maybe cross the Wheatland ferry just for giggles, to 221 and figure out a way to avoid the outskirts of Salem to pick up 223.

    Something like that. :dunno

Thinking about heading over that way. Not sure if I will make it to Hoskin's yet... Does anyone know how long does this celebration at Hoskins usually lasts? Let's see, making a list: chunk of wood, eats, beverage of choice, Marley music, wet weather gear, camping table and chairs, extra Buell parts, dreadlocks, mosquito repellent (lol).

Leave the Table and Chairs at home and throw in a tow rope ....:lol3 The place is normally vacant by 1500ish, but that is totally up to those in attendance. I don't think the Gestapo kick you out of the park until dusk....

Wet Weather Gear.....what is that for? It ain't gonna rain..............................................................................much.
