How come this thread now shows an unknown quantity of replies and views?
This thread was moved to the Regional forum from the Ride reports. I feel special. How about you?
Dunno. Haven't felt myself lately... you should really keep private matters private.
Akchooly, I thought the thread was moved here from JM. No matta. As an adventure rider I"m qualified to go look around til I've found us.
*Skip, skip skip* ...IIIII'm off to see the wizarrr...
After following your postings here , and meeting you in Girdwood, I can honestly say you are one Twisted Fuck! Good to see there are more of us out there!!!:):
My man, you will fit right in with this group of hooligans
Keep the sense of humor flowing, Looking forward to riding with you soon.
Ta Ta for now... Come along Toto...
Ewww. Not good ...naaaht good! Some of you are not well at all. If I fit that's a clear indication that the therapy hasn't taken yet. More might be better.
Maybe a prescription upgrade?
Off to the talkin' doc! La te dah te tah...
Xlnt ride to Eureka last weekend ('cept for the flat). Any of you guys get out?
Is there a site for Norhtern Riders. Would like to know when road trips are planned.
Akrider... You can drink, cuss, laugh at my ride or diss on my momma... but stuttering on this site can get your ass booted! Whas da matter, spent to much time in that private chat room las' night and now yur keyboards sticky or what???:huh
Hey akrider! Pay no mind to Dapman. It's his special time of the month. He'll be peckish for a week ...maybe two, and then he'll be a happy tiger again.
As far as Northern Riders go, the site is right here...
On May 10th at 2:00p there'll be a group meeting at the Carr's Huffman parking lot, heading to Seward for dinner ...then turn around and come back.
On May 14 we'll meet up sometime around 5:30p (or so ...verify on schedule) and head to Whittier for dinner at Varley's Cafe. After that we'll scoot back through the tunnel and head home. For those of you that haven't seen it there are some pics toward the bottom of this link:
Dapman, Vag, adrider, ...anybody got out for a scoot?
I was supposed to go for a ride to Seward today but the weather there was crap (yep, was in Anchorage too) so my riding buddy Rich and I went to Whittier in the rain.
Took off at 2:00p and went through the tunnel. Xlnt ride. Even wrote a momma's day postcard and mailed it from Whittier just so she'd know I loved her. Ahhh, I am a bastahrde' romantique.
Wench coulda cleaned the house while I was gone
please don't see this baby, please
Yup ...its a nice time of year here.
uhh, wildething ...this is our good weather.
I took a short jaunt down to Turnagain Pass today, and wouldn't ya know it, there was a beached whale near the head of the inlet. It was alive and quite unhappy, but I heard on the news tonight that when the tide came up, it made that big feller's day. Otherwise, the ride was great, but the weather was gloomy(fog & drizzle).
So when are they supposed to be done w/ the Bird Creek project?
It's 20:30 and I feel another ride coming on. I love our long days!
Wow, a beached whale! Haven't run into one of those since I the days I spent as a younger man, wisely investing my time at Chilkoot Charlies. Ahh, to be a bachelor.
That actually must've been a bummer to see. I assume it was a beluga? Could you hear it?
Not a beluga. I think that it was a Right whale. It was quite large, about 30ft long. Fortunately, I couldn't hear it. I heard on the news that it was still stuck last night. Hope it gets out at High tide today.
Not happening. I rode by last night and that whale is toast. Natives are cutting it into slabs the size of briefcases and hauling it away to eat.
Try as I might I couldn't seem to look at a whale that died of unknown causes and then washed up on the beach as a potential snack.
In case you haven't been informed... Sunday May 18th @ around 2:00pm fellow Gruver, Frankie Jr. was involved in a single vehicle accident on his Yamaha R1 southbound on Minnesota Dr. just east of C st.
Early reports indicated he received a couple broken ribs and a cracked vertebrae, but he was still unconscience and they would know more later. During the night he took a turn for the worse and they went in and relieved pressure that was building in his head. Latest reports put it pretty much in God's hands, Let's all pray that we have a happy ending, and that Frankie will be up and riding with us again soon.
Take care and get well brother... You're in our thoughts and prayers!
Monday May 19th, 2003
Frankie Jr. left us this afternoon to begin the greatest adventure of all. All who knew Frankie and his zest for life, will be a little less whole from this day on. I'm having difficulty writing this,
but Frankie, save a spot in your riding group for me when I join you whenever that may be...
I'll miss you my friend...
Go with God
I received the dreadful news this afternoon from Fred, and I couldn't fathom the loss of our good friend. He will be sorely missed by all who came to know him. Frankie will always be in our thoughts and close to our hearts.
