put something on and stay in that position.
Honda XR400 with a fresh top end, forged Wiseco piston and bored over to 416, and BMW F650 Dakar with a YZ450 front end and Ohlins rear as my 'touring' bike.

The XR is a lot easier to ride-- and cheaper to crash-- on the trails, and the F650 has just done 7200 miles in the last 5 weeks, including Death Valley and Rick's Rendez-Vous.

Two thumpers? My collection currently contains: 2013 Husky Strada, 2009 Yamaha WR250R, 2005 Suzuki DR650, 2005 Suzuki DRZ400S, 2003 XR250R and a 1996 KLR650. I keep two in Idaho, two in Arizona and two in Washington. I'm single, I don't have to justify anything to anyone.

I did own 2, a klr and a crf230. I think another klr will be in the stable if I get my new business up and running.

    I have a DRZ400S and a 650R.

I wouldn't be able to justify the 400S if my wife did not take in interest in it. The bike did not cost me all that much, but the 650R does the same thing the 400 can, all be it with a LOT less finesse!

Both absolutely SUCK on the slab. (650R is slightly better due to faster speed)

I have 2. '97 KLR 650 and a 2009 KLR 650. The '09 I use mostly for daily transport, the 1997 is set up for off-road and desert. I just bought the '97 a few weeks ago so haven't had a chance to take it out in the dirt yet.

I still try to justify how many bikes I have (3 GS's of various vintage, one with a sidecar, a DRZ, and very soon a DR650 - and that doesn't even include the Dude's bikes!) and can't seem to come up with a good reason to keep them all.

Oh well, they're still staying!! :lol3:freaky

I picked up a 99 Dr350 to keep the 690 company. I think they are going to be friends. :kumbaya

I don't fully understand the question.

I hope I never have to cut back to two thumpers.

If I couldn't ride, I'd like to have two (of my ex race bikes) on display.

    Currently:

Honda Z50 Minitrail '73 (Mini thumper, street rego, 105cc. Lusted after as a young child)
YZ250F (Midi thumper - great bike)
    525SX - (Full Motard, conversion)
450EXC - Trails. Had the most fun in ages recently, riding with childhood friends on super challenging tracks. My first ride with them for over 15 years!
525EXC (long story, can be road registered here, basically a spare...)
690 Enduro (The most "Thump" I've ever owned - feel like I'm a kid again on my TT600...)

Most of these bikes are basically worthless to sell (Who wants an '04 SM, even with slipper clutch, CR gear box, fancy brakes, 2 sets of wheels and a pile of alternate sprockets?) And priceless to me (I've made it on TV, racing in a world famous {in New Zealand} street race on it).

    I need a 690SMC, and probably a Husaberg 570......
