I was just in Brothers Powersports in Bremerton Saturday morning getting the chain recall done. There was a manual on the floor. Don't know if they have a DCT right now. Even if there isn't one on the floor I know they are limited on space and keep some inventory off site.

Dealer I checked out last week said he has 2013s coming in the 3rd week of February.
Still no info on the 2013's on the Honda site.

I bought a used NC700X yesterday, but haven't ridden it yet. I will pick it up once the roads clear a bit more.

Is it normal to buy a bike without a test ride? The one I bought has 106 miles on it, and there was a solid vibe from the seller, his wife, and the shed he bought for the NC.

Really looking forward to my first ride.

    Hello Chris,

For what's it worth, I didn't bother with a test ride. The NC felt good just sitting on it, for my size. I tend to buy a new machine every year or so and the new machines have all been refined from earlier machines and I have not been disappointed to date. I did read several test reviews of the NC though and let the experts get the test ride. When I did take delivery of the NC it has been just flat great. Ride it like a big single, shift early and it pulls great. With winter not getting much riding in but when I do get out, the NC is sure fun to ride.

Did the seller mention why he sold?

I'm debating on looking at trading mine or selling for a 2012 with ABS or a 2013 w/ ABS.

    I didn't take a test ride either.
In fact I haven't even heard my bike run yet. I sat on it a few times and that was enough for me.
I am coming off a DRZ as my "street bike", so the NC has to be a VAST improvement.

... and I think my skidplate may show up in the mail today or tomorrow.
The wife thought it was silly to buy a skidplate for a bike i don't even have yet:evil

Yep. He got a big promotion at work and is buying the Harley Wide Glide or whatnot that he has always wanted. He basically rode it home and took a couple local trips, then put it away for the winter.

I went for a test ride today. Tried a Transalp as well. Much preferred the NCX. Put a deposit on a new red one and will be collecting 2 weeks today :clap Having the dealer install Givi luggage, heated grips and Engine bars as part of the deal. Can't wait to collect it.

This is the luggage I've gone for.

    And the engine bars [IMG]

This is the demo bike I took out. Didn't care for the Hippo hands much, the bike is great though. I can see me doing a lot of miles on this one.

It's going to need a hugger and I would like a chain oiler but you can't fit a vacuum scottoiler and the electronic one is £200+.

Actually, there is at least one guy over here (I think he is a professional) who drilled into some part of the engine intake system to get some vacuum for the chain oiler, and this works. However, I do not at all recommend to do it like this :)
I am happily lubing the chain every week or so. Not much about it.

I don't want to be drilling holes in the inlet manifold either :lol3 I guess I'll just chuck a can of chain lube in the 'not a tank' and call it good. :thumb

Just wondering if any of you guys have bought a cover for the bike? I live in Louisiana and it is constantly raining in this place. Normally I would just keep her in the garage but on post they don't build many because of the mold issues. I am in the process of installing the Givi setup that several of you have and just wanted to see if you guys found a cover that fits well. I have started to notice rust forming on the ignition switch so its time to find a solution. Thanks in advance. Darrell
