Bike jetting sounds perfect. Im about to try an 07 back, on my WR. Have you run them before? They seem very well received.

This will be my fourth or fifth E07, The only reason I tried the heidenau was because the last E07 cracked a fair bit down the right side of the centre strip but that should be dealt with with the new pattern.
For my riding they are ideal and the front tracks well in the sand on the out back tracks, I think the directional tread helps keep the front wheel going where it should.

Hmmm, I've never had the cracking beside the centre strip. Pics?

Yep Thanks BergDonk. Had a closer look at my current T-63 rear and yes it has Made in Thailand on it. It does seem to be wearing more quickly than my previous T-63s. Still a good tyre though, I like 'em.

Do you know how one goes about making sure they get one made in Czecho or is it 'luck of the draw' ?

Luck of the draw so far for me. I guess if I really want a Czech one, I buy a Mitas E09, but not a Dakar version. Close enough to the same tyre, but typically more $s.

The code for Michi' tyres from Tailand is ... "0C" .... for Chec republic is ... Mitas :"54" , "6J" , "C6" .. I guess the Michi's are made in the same factories ?

Sourced from the link in my earlier post. so I can't guarantee it ... etc.
    Hope it helps.

Does anyone know whether it's possible to fit a later model electric start DR650 motor into a DR650RS kick start only bike?

I have seen a photo somewhere..... Don't know if any mounts were changed, but it looked like a simple swap. Adding a larger battery and the starting electrics would be the biggest headache. Carb alignment might be an issue as well? (if the manifolds cant be swapped over)

Edit. the oil cooler would have to be relocated and re-plumbed as well

Yes mate, many specialist manufacturers make whatever, (medicines, breakfast ceriels, clothes dryers .. anything) using specs. provided by "brand name" coy's ... saves Michi ( and others) tooling up, training workers .. etc. etc.

So I finally installed my extended mixture screw and have replaced the plastic choke cable nut with the warp9 one. I believe the bike now has the correct air/fuel mixture and idle setting. However, on the very cold mornings in Canberra I start it with choke no problem, as the bike begins to warm up on my way to work it will often stall as im coasting to stop. Adjusting the choke doesnt seem to fix this. Im reluctant to increase the idle as it will be at 2000+ rpm by the time the engine completely warms up.
Not sure what could be causing it to stall in between the cold to warmed up stage. Any ideas?

A cold engine needs more fuel than a hot one. Mine did the same I just added 1/4 turn more mixture and it fixed the problem.

The bike was originally running very rich and still had the same issue.
As I was playing with the mixture screw while the bike was running, I closed it all the way and the bike still ran (roughly)... I expected the bike to stall... is that normal?

I had simular issues even from new and it was not until I removed the carby and stripped and cleaned it that it went away. Funny as i did not find any issues when i stripped it. Might just be a DR thing.

You might still be a bit lean on the main. If you have a 155 maybe give it a try. The mixture screw wasn't mentioned, should be out almost two full turns to reduce decel popping. Make sure the nuts to the Midpipe are loctited and tight. Akro nice!!
