I hope the Rainbow RR didn't damage you too much. :evil I just reread your Monsildale Road report. I'm thinking of heading up that way soon. Great road that one. The creek crossings can be treacherous especially if they've had water sitting on them for a while.

Yes Monsidale road is awesome,, the FLU :eek1 stopped me from doing the rest of it, Kilcoy Murgon Rd,, turn onto Monsidale Rd, Turn right back onto Kilcoy Murgon Rd then further down Left onto Sunday Creek Rd and camp at Charlie Moreland Campground...

One day I will go back and do it again,, will be better prepared next time for that Slippery Creek Crossing.

Thats a good run through to Kennilworth and Chalie Moreland. There is another camp ground at the Jimna end called Peachtrees. Supposed to be a nice spot as well. I haven't had a look at it yet.

If you want some practice on creek crossings there is a route a bit further west of Monsildale Rd called the Western Branch Rd. You head up from Moore to Linville and keep going North. I think there are something like 23 crossings on the head of the Brisbane river through there.

You don't ride through water on all of them but then again it would depend on the height of the river at the time. Most are just low lying fords.

If you plan on heading up there give me a yell. I started the ride up there once but the fuel range wasn't up to it so I turned back. I've got a big tank now so not a problem any more.

    Cheers

Nice pics from the ride Mick, they are some great areas to go through. There are plenty more roads and tracks down that way to investigate.

Your KLR looks nicely setup, might have to catch you up for a ride some day, I live just over in Mt Crosby.

    Cheers

Thanks for the kind comments, I really enjoyed this ride. I am a fairly slow rider or maybe its because I stop and take alot of photo's :lol3

The Dakar helmet is great albeit a bit noisy compared to my roadbike helmet, however having said that its alot quieter than my dirt bike helmet. Goggles do fit without any probs. I can still hear the GPS and music despite the wind noise.

Sure thing Matt,,, we will have to go for a ride,,, I have every second weekend free to do whatever I like.

Might have to look at doing something similair to the number plate. The next RR :D was the next day you can check this one out if you like,,, went for a ride with my neighbour and fellow KLR owner...

This weekend I fitted some Bar Risers, just came back from a quick blat seemed to make the sitting position better for me, I am going to put on a front cog 1 tooth down to make first gear lower and am trying to find out what IMS footpegs to fit. Last week had a Dunlop 606 fitted to the rear.

I was very lucky when I purchased this bike as it was largely setup the way you see it.
