    Hey Rob,

Just did VA1, VA2, and VA3 the other day, and found 3 gated areas.
Nothing major that I couldn't navigate around pretty easily with detailed maps, but I did waypoint the gates for you.
#1 & #2 I had to go around... #3 is SORT of gated. It was closed, and only open for official emergency use, or for hadicapped hunters with ATV permits.. so there was a way around..

Been riding a bunch of your files this summer, parts of TNJT, NJST, and today just did a portion of your Allegheny National Forest route.. You ROCK! Thanks for the great riding.

Here's a link to the waypoints.

To revive an ancient thread, I just moved to Riegelsville.

I went through this whole thread and grabbed a bunch of stuff I will be trying out.

Anyone down to guide a ride some time soon?

A buddy of mine just picked up a DR650SE which we finally got operational this weekend. Now we're on a quest to find some legal unpaved riding in Maryland which led me to this thread.

I converted the MD .gdb file from the zip into gpx and put it on a map to get an overview.

What percentage of these tracks are dirt?

I've started a thread and a map on my site about it.

Does anyone know of any more roads closer to DC? There are some around Potomac and others around Sugarloaf Mountain but they are all pretty tame.

rob23 - thanks for posting the maps!

I am planning to meet a group of friends in Cumberland next SEP. I had resigned myself to street bike riding because I don't know anything about the area. Now that I have seen your map, I am really interested in the Greenridge State Park area.

Are the roads in the state park big bike friendly? Have you got any pictures from this area? I see where you call one loop "outlaw". Would rangers be chasing me if I roosted of into the woods on this track?

    What are your recommendations?

I know this thread is about 6 years old at this point, but I just wanted to say thank for sharing this. I just did some exploring of the tracks from the PA MD WV gdb file and I had a blast. I'm new to riding off-road and these routes were PERFECT. I started in West Chester this morning, blasted West on 76 to Micheaux State Forest, wandered South into Catoctin Mountain Park in MD, then went further West to Green Ridge State Forest. Everything I encountered was doable on my 1200GS. I never would have found these roads on my own.

Since I've been leeching off your efforts for so long, I just wanted to say Thank You to the user that compiled these routes. Just spent a couple of days in PA riding the Michaux trails. Awesome!
