Week ago Sat. and my first ride since New Years Day. Headed to West KY from Dyersburg TN. Stopped to snap a pic of the Goodyear Plant in Union City slated to close at the end of the year. Will be devastating to the area.

Downtown Paducah. One of, if not the, fastest growing artist communities in the U.S. City has its act together for a small town. Much going on all the time and adequate free parking.

    Murals along the sea wall.

Some examples of the architecture. And, oh yeah. Obligatory airhead pic.

Is there anything more beautiful than a sailboat?

Buttercups all along the trace that runs through the "Land Between the Lakes Park."

    And, Bison.

Crossing the TN river headed home. I just lucked up on the ferry - didn't realize one was in service.

Big Sandy on the opposite shore. Great day and great weather. 330 mi for the day.

Great photos:clap Makes me want to go to Paducah and do a little riding. I really enjoy the Grand Rivers area. It almost feels like you go to an area that is very content to stay the way it is. When you left the Trace did you travel Hwy 232 that ties Hwy 79 and I think it is Hwy 147 together?

I look forward to seeing more.

Definitely rode 232 - great road. If you hang a right (west) where 232 ends you'll run right into the ferry. Sorry, but thats all the pics from this ride. Thanks for the comments.

I can't believe you left out the quilt museum!!! I pass through there all the time into Southern Illinois but rarely stop for anything other than gas and some eats....

I have a buddy that always talks about the BBQ festival on the river and I told him this was the year and we were gonna be there....hopefully.

Every Sat night in the warmer months they close off the streets to traffic and have a festival with carriage rides, music acts, people everywhere. One of the side streets is reserved for bike parking. Pretty cool.

That whole area is my front yard! I live in Possum Trot. I'm sure you passed through Possum Trot on your way to Grand Rivers from Paducah unless you took the interstate. If you took Hwy 62, did you notice the Kubota tractor dealership right before Possum Trot (I prefer Possum Heights)? That's me!

Great pictures. We have ridden in that area, but never spent any time in Paducah. It's nice looking town. Have to make a point to stop in there & spend some time someday. :thumb

Not familiar with Possum Trot but I'll make it a point to find it. Must have a pic of the sign if there is one!

wow, that place has changed a bit, lived there about 15 years ago... do they still have the train on a section of track down by the water front ? i think it was next to the city museum.
