Any new installments?
So when's the return trip to Mex? Once you taste her awesomeness, you always want to get back that felling.
why am i still subscribed to this one? i don't even remember to what installments should be made.
61 pages? Are you kidding me? Jeez. This will take a while.
I'm thinking it's about time to make a Baja run......whaddaya say, Tony?
Holy fffffkkkking epic ride report. Truly a magnificent group of individuals sharing their camp fire with mortals that lurk & dream. Hommer is a combination of Mark Twain and Carl Hiason, a well blended cocktail of an epic Baja adventure.
I leave for Baja in 2 weeks.
Already looking forward to the Ride Report!
Right on Tony! You will have so much fun. Just remember the adventure starts when your plan goes to shit.
'tis the season that I wish I was getting ready for an amazing adventure with some amazing friends.
We really need to get the old Colorado drinking crew back together in 2014. I don't care if it's just an overnight-er to Pueblo. Well maybe not Pueblo, but you get the idea.
I want to go somewhere warmer than Pueblo, though.
still 80 degrees out here! just like baja
. got friends that rent bikes and know some great camping spots!!!
just an offer?
pueblo is cool too
Awesome, epic RR. I went for a weekend in San Felipe before thanksgiving, the picture of the Mercado on the malecon has the place we stayed on the right side of the pic. Don't know why I found that interesting, but I did.
Very entertaining read, you guys need to go again so I can tag along, or so we can all enjoy another epic RR.
I just found this RR a few days ago. No idea why I never saw it before. Great trip all of you, and thanks so much for putting it all down for us to read! I like the format, contributions by all of you. It must make it kinda fun to tag team the report.
I think I am going to need to get back down there again as soon as I heal up from my latest orthopaedic surgeon financial assistance effort, maybe about 6 weeks from now. I got a head start by making Baja tacos pescados for my son and I last night. Of course, this recipe uses the official cerveca del RR:
Tacos Pescados del Baja California:
Mahi Mahi, Tilapia or other boneless white fish 1/4 lb per person, or a little more
Small corn tortillas (and/or flour if preferred)
Hot pepper sauce
Corn oil for frying
Tomatoes for pico de gallo
Cilantro for pico de gallo
White onion for pico de gallo (and extra as well, if desired)
Beer for drinking & batter (Cerveca Pacifico Ballena is best) - don't add too much!
About 1/2 a cup of Flour for batter
About a teaspoon of Paprika for batter
Dash of salt in batter
Chop tomatoes, cilantro and onion and blend to taste with pepper sauce for pico de gallo
Clean and chop cabbage
Clean and slice key limes into quarters
Cut fish into finger sized pieces for dipping and frying
Mix flour, paprika, salt and beer until the batter is smooth and not quite as thick as pancake batter
Heat oil until a drop of batter sizzles vigorously when added to oil.
Do not overheat oil until it becomes (tastes) burnt!
Dip and roll chunks of fish in batter
Fry fish strips in up to one inch of vegetable oil
Heat tortillas dry on flat griddle or in large pan - not too much! (not much at all)
Serve fish in corn tortillas with cabbage and pico de gallo, a slice of lime on the side and your favorite hot sauces
Serve with black beans & rice if desired
